Just save scummed from a position where enemy sieged down a level 3 fort at 7% while I was at 49% on his capital. I'm glad there is some form of "checks & balances" to undo the absolute madness that the AI inflicts on players.
85% on siege when it's by me. Btw, it was at 92% then got a disease outbreak. 3 siege pip general too.

I respectfully disagreed with the OP strictly because of the sentiment of entitlement. Like or dislike certain styles of play for streamers, that's cool. But you can, respectfully, stuff this attitude of "Yo steamers, you should really do things the way I like!". You're not the centre of the universe, mate.

I've never, ever save scummed. I fundamentally dislike and disagree with it. But I've just lost unions on two separate occasions to rulers in their 20s and one who was 18. If it happens again, I've reloading and nothing will make me feel bad about it.

My rule is, by the way, losing one union (ie Spain or Commonwealth the ones I lost) once is fair game. Losing it twice to rulers who are in their teens and twenties is too much for me. Judge all you want.

There's no EU4 Santa Claus who watches you play and gives you coal if you save scum (although in this context, coal might be exactly what you want ;)). I understand why Paradox locks achievements to ironman mode, and it does make sense. But they're also just little icons you get on your Steam account. I'm not above reloading if I accidentally do something absentminded like declare with the wrong CB, but I do respect the spirit of the ironman restriction, which is that you don't get to negate a bad event, or do something and then go back and try it differently because you don't like the outcome. So if you need the validation you get from those icons so badly that you are willing to bend the intent of the rule, on the one hand I think that's kind of lame, but I also can't get very worked up about it. We play this game for enjoyment, not to compare ourselves to one another. As for streamers, it's the same standard. If they can amaze me with what they do with the game, they earn my respect.

A fun question for all of you, folks - do you consider saving, quiting and loading again game as cheating equal to save-scaming? For example you can easily disband coalition when you reload game if members have enough opinion of you.

I don't think quitting a session and returning to the exact point you quit can ever reasonably be considered "cheating".

I am surprised there is any negative reaction to my statement. Isn't the reality of the situation better then artificiality? People cite misclicks or fringe cases as viable reasons for artificiality. Isn't every plan subject to the blessing or curse of the Fates? Isn't every corner, every nook and cranny, of history filled with this lesson? Including our own life? Why do we watch players play chess? Or football? Or music? Or EU4?

I am afraid that some have made the Perfect the enemy of the Good. That is a closed learning circle, with no or little gaining of competency. It is the hard road.

Because, mistakes down to genuinely bad or incoherent user interface are in my book, totally fair.
