Sometimes I will adjust the treasury slider and the attendant monthly income rate changes (when you hold the cursor over the coins at top left of screen) and my rate of inflation changes do not change for years. Once I moved my treasury slider all the way to the left and my inflation rate should have changed by -0.12 per year but my inflation rate kept going up. It kept going up for years. I just quit the game and went back to the save point I restarted at. I had my time elapse running at just under max speed. Is that why it did not change? The same thing with my gold income rate changes. No change for a very long time after I change the slider. Is it the speed I'm running at?

If you don't close the menu or change tabs then your investment settings won't update.

Whenever you leave the budget tab open and run the game it leads to goofy results like locked sliders moving slightly, investments wobbling around where you had them set.

As Pewt said, make sure you close the tab whenever you make changes to ensure they stick - and never leave the tab open when the game is unpaused!
