The UK and Japanese elections even triggered on their own for the first time in DEG history.
It turned out that I was not welcome to play France. There was some talk that this would enable Italy to attack democracies more easily but that WE increases might offset this. I'm not sure about that but playing France in an MP game is the way to find out. Anyway, having chosen France, I was not going to be bullied out of it and preferred to stay out of the game.Originally posted by MadViking
We meet up on V-net at 19:00, redawn and Aldo are welcome to play France or any Allies minor you want
There was no firm commitment. My involvement was provisional because others had also expressed interest in playing (e.g. Aldo) and no country had been reserved for me yet. I was expecting the matter to be finalised at game start which is when I made my choice. Given that the house rules allow France as a player country and the other major powers were covered, I fail to see why I could not have been allowed to play this country. But since there seemed to be some opposition to my choice of France, I withdrew rather than cause trouble.Originally posted by juv95hrn
I think agreeing to play a nation 2 hours before a session, spending lots of time discussing strategies and then changing ones mind at startup and refusing to budge isn't what most people would call being bullied.

I thought we had agreed to flush the pic pac down the drain ?????
I currently have three installs of HOI:Originally posted by MadViking
I personally do not see why people are so upset at the Pic Pack. It is actually much more fun to play the lesser nations (such as the CW minors) with the Pic Pack, and it does not take much time to install (just unzip it for Christs sake....).

I think they could have managed a bit more than that. Its population in 1939 was 20,000 and most of these were evacuated to the UK. That's two divisions worth of people. 40 km (25 miles) of tunnels were dug and these would be able to accommodate another 2 divs in a pinch. The rubble from the excavations was used to create an airstrip and this held 600 aircraft to provide air cover for the Torch landings.Originally posted by (swe)tuuttu
Its no way possible to have more then 2 divs in Gibraltar, the rock was smaller then I thougth.![]()
