Could paradox guys explain this video?
Does really moddiffers broken?
Defense is defense, defense is breaktrhough, and breaktrought is nothing?

The other day i saw very very high level in breaktrough, so it seems strange to me, but this is a quiet valid answer

Defense refers to something like 3 different things. Sometimes it means boosts to your defensive stat (defense or breakthrough, as shown by the high command and officers and such in the video), sometimes boosts your stats while defending (both attacks and defense, terrain modifiers from engineers), and sometimes it refers to specifically the defense stat alone (like the battalion stat mods).

I wish you well trying to sort through all of them on your own.

In short... yes. Breakthrough is kinda like defense for attackers. It is derived from the same base statistics.

Where this video goes slightly wrong (understandably), is that breakthrough modifiers on generals (such as Aggressive Assaulter) do have an effect - but that effect is applied to the division on application instead of in combat. That modifies the base value that is passed through to the combat, and doesn't show up in the tooltip. That is something I've logged for some future attention :).

Hey, Guy in the video here. Why does aggressive assaulter apply directly to the template but Unyielding Defender shows up in the battle screen and not on the template . That seems really random to me. Also, I edited the description to reflect how it actually works.

It's from before my time, but I would imagine breakthrough_factor was never intended to be used as a unit_leader modifier, and was supposed to be applied on a division level from various modifiers. Guessing there though.

What means it's employ on application? Is apply pre
combat modifier (that are in the tooltip) ?
So combat stats in the tooltip final were no final values or they are? If I check same templates from unit info from one with assaulter and they without, they the templates of full units should be different?
There's other modifier showing bad like this?
Thanks for a non evading answer

So I went and checked yesterday. Aggressive Assaulter does show up directly on the division template that shows up when you click on the unit in the army and does give 10%. The only other modifiers I found that worked like this are the non combat modifiers, you can see logistics wizard in the template and the planning bonuses ones when hovering over planning bonus.

Mathematically it works out to be the exact same.

Did you check, final tooltip values are the tooltip base values * moddifiers? well exept the breaktrought. Really the defense modiffer its not good to me, defense and breaktrought shouldnt to be managed by the same value, even should be oposite a unit ready to defend is quiet diferent to a unit that could defend, focus on the organization that its suposs the idea of the general.
