Has anyone got this achievement yet? I've made two runs trying to get it and neither unlocked the achievement.

In the first, Eustache died and later his son was the top contributor in the First Crusade, netting his benefactor the Kingdom of Jerusalem. I selected to play as the benefactor, and no achievement. Game rules clearly show that Ironman is on and achievements are available.

I thought maybe you have to do it in Eustache's lifetime, so I tried that. No dice. Same problem despite the benefactor clearly owning the Kingdom of Jerusalem title and the County of Jerusalem, which seem to be the main requirements for the achievement. Complete control of all holdings in the County of Jerusalem seems to be a requirement too, which both runs had.

Only idea I have is that the benefactor in the second run was Eustache's grandson, but that seems like an oddly bizarre limitation and I can't find anything detailing something like that. Seems like I completed what the achievement states in both runs. Inserted pictures show the second run, with Eustache alive and achievements enabled.

The main 1066 date, not William the Conqueror. I checked in the files, and William the Conqueror disables it. Unless William the Conqueror is actually the main starting date and my game always starts on the other one for some reason.

Question on this matter: does the original Eustache need to live up to the crusade, or the achievement also fires if the crusade is conducted by one of his sons?
Because frankly in 1066 Eustache is already in is 40s, and 1st crusade generally fires in 1090 or so. Thus, you have to hope that Eustache lives until 70, which is uncommon...
Thanks for your help, HN

I won the crusade as Eustache's son and selected his daughter to play as the queen of Jerusalem I think. I have no idea what you're doing wrong to be honest. I got the achievment after this.

Actually mine was just a question. I have started a couple of games with Eustache but he never reaches the crusade...
So was just wandering if in addition to the complexity of winning the crusade being the most contributor (which is not easy unless you do not become king of something), I have to ponder the probabilities of him reaching 70... thanks.

Unfortunately I cannot confirm, since I never got the achievement, but I'm guessing you only need to start as him. It does seem like a wild limitation for it to be done during his lifetime, but I do appreciate Paradox putting in more time-limited achievements, so I wouldn't mind that very much. I was able to accomplish it on ironman without him dying, but again, no achievement since they seem to be broken for me in this current version. I haven't been able to get anything.

I achieved this in 1167. It was my second time winning Jerusalem; first time around the county was in Byzantine control, so I made sure to get it off them while I had the chance. (Also, my crusader queen went on the immortality quest only to fail at the last step.) As far as I can see, it should work for any de Boulogne dynasty member as the recipient.
