No different religious provinces are probably less likely to rebel as you have one more religious slider to play with (and one whiich you can set to 0: CRC religion)one negative thing:

It should have some sort of advantage. Certainly the Ottomans had a special standing in the Sunni Muslim world after assuming the Caliphate, and the Russians were looked to as the leaders of Orthodoxy after the fall of Byzantium and the idea of the Third Rome developed. Much harder to decided the value of being "Most Catholic Majesty" in Spain or "Eldest Daughter of the Church" in la belle France.
