Hey everyone. I'm wondering if a sufficiently strong player empire could take on an Awakened Empire - I may have ""Accidentally"" defeated a Xenophobic Fallen Empire after going out of my way to piss them off, causing a nearby Spiritualist FE to Awaken. They're demanding that I submit to them (Although all they say is Greetings!). Should I hold out for a War in Heaven to happen, and launch a sudden attack on them as they wage war on their Rival, or what?

You can defeat them if you are strong enough, but it is easier during a war in the heavens, since they are otherwise occupied. It also helps that you can start or join the league of unaligned worlds.

Although once you have become powerful enough to trigger the awakening, you are close to being powerful enough to take them on by yourself. At least on normal difficulty. I was able to hold out as the leader of the league during the war in the heavens without much difficulty and nearly destroyed one of them when the unbidden triggered who were much closer to my border than the fallen empires and required all my fleets to contain them.
