I'm almost positive that I can't, unless I work some miracles with my work scheduling. Wednesday / Thursday for me, but I won't count out the possibility as the game won't be starting until March. Gives me time to work something out.

Amp, ICQ me. On now.

Temporary Roster:

Spain: Mulliman
Russia: King John
Portugal: Martmol
France: Ampoliros
England: FAL
Austria: Ulschmidt
Sweden: Blue Lotus
Brandenburg: Van Engel
Venice: Aladar
The OE: Drake
Poland: Absolut or Dr. Bob
NL: National Cause

Further players will be offered nations such as:

1. Bavaria
2. Denmark
3. Palatinate
etc.

Now this is merely a temporary roster. Anybody upset with his placement can protest it and I will reevaluate it. Please bear in mind, however, that I have tried to create a balanced situation. I have for example tried to place vets next to vets (balancing KJ in Russia with Drake in the OE and Mioz/Blue Lotus/ Dr. Bob in Sweden or Ampoliros in France with Mulliman in Spain and FAL in England). Some players that I have no knowledge of whatsoever have been deprioratized and for that I apologize. They are offered secondary countries such as Denmark, Bavaria and the Palatinate. Somebody is bound to drop, however, and then they will get first takings of his primary country. Also we will definetly need subs and you are extremely welcome to play in that function anyway. Again my apologies for this. :)

All,

I can't make it Tuesdays. Mondays and Wednesdays at that time would work for me.

But WATK is awful. Unless you're playing Asia, I suppose I'll have to give it a miss.

All: Tuesday seems to be the day that, at present at least, works for most players. Is there anyone who can absolutely not play on tuesdays? Please say so now.

Well, that would be me.

We ought to look for ways to curb the immense wealth available in WATk3. I really don't like the idea of another game where all the frontrunners max out techs by 1650. How bout if we edit in inflation for everybody, 2 percent every session or maybe 20 percent every 100 years?

I 100% Agree. The income levels gathered from WatK are insane.

However, fixing it with inflation is not such a good idea IMO. Those with lucky deflation events would profit too much.

Perhaps we should just mod the WatK package and curb overall income, like EGO has done for his mod.

A much simpler option would be to play vanilla.

I played Austria in my last campaign. does Anyone want to switch?

Hmm...tricky as the present balance would be potentialy compromised.

Perhaps either Aladar or Van Engel would agree to swap?

In any case with the current roster I do believe you will have an altogether different austrian experience than before. It would be a test to your mettle, Ulschmidt, with dangerous powers all around you.

What say you? Aye to a challenge? :)

I am very much open to modding the WatK package as EGO has done in his mod (perhaps even using his mod as foundation).
I specificaly decided upon this campaign, however, as I wanted to play in a good WatK-campaign and not a vanilla one. So I for one could naught be brought to Dreams of Vanilla. :D

nerf trade alot would solve those issues more effective then reducing prov wealth or editing inflation

the main issue with inflation edits is 1 can get lucky with events and get a unfair advantage over others as he won't get the penalty so the only way this would work is delete all inflation reducing events

reducing the value of tradegoods alot will reduce trade acros the board (wich is by far the biggest problem for the huge wealth since it doesn't add to tech or stabcosts)
+
it will reduce the generall production income by alot if most goods become as valuable as grain/fish ect

besides it only requires 1 simple file to be edited wich is easy to transfer to players

On Time Bonuses will most definetly not be dropped. Sorry, PJL, but I have had to endure too much nervekilling torture waiting for some latecomers in V-net. It kills the fun of all that are ontime and leads to a vicious circle where noone deems it worthwhile to turn up punctualy anymore.

Why always make it a bonus.....attending should be a given. Not showing up should be punished instead.

Nothing for showing up on time, penalty for being late/not showing.

People who are late and get a punishment start to excessively complain about it in the thread. It might be less of a headache to the GM to not punish bad boys, but reward good boys.

Another minor way to help curb the excessive WATK incomes would be to forbid trade agreements, making trade a bit more expensive but also allowing it to be distributed a bit more.

Depending on how well the ridiculous watk income levels are fixed I wouldn't mind playing one of Palatinat, Bavaria, Denmark
