  • Victoria 2: Heart of Darkness
If this point was discussed, I did not see it, that is why I am making this thread. One very big problem I saw on Victoria, was that once you declared war on a country, you could not declare war on another country until you are at peace. I find this most unrealistic and believe it t would be good if changed for Victoria II. Many countries throughout history had declared war to other countries while being already at war, like Germany declaring war to Belgium after declaring war to Russia in WWI, and those countries were not allies. It sometimes is strategically advantageous, like in the same example, Germany needed to invade France through Belgium.
Thank you

I think it was done due to game-mechanic-issues in V1.
I agree to your request. How is it handled in V2?
And if it is the same:
Was this a Paradox-decission because you like it so :)D) or is it handled so because of gameplay/balance/exploting or gamemechanics?

Thank you

That'd make world conquest easier, when you could declare war simultaneous on Prussia, Russia, UK, +whatever as France... ;)

and better if they all throw their troops into your super-massive-artillery stack.

I think in V1 it is so to prevent you to be DOWing your ally who had guaranteed someone's independence, I could imagine an awkward scenario!

Maybe my memory is going bad here, but I seem to remember that you could make several DoWs in 1.00, but it was removed later. I also think that the restriction was made due to game mechanics, probably to help AI.
