- DoW deadline
Declarations of War (DoWs) must be made before the deadline of midnight Wednesday/Thursday, according to GMT forum clock time, if they are to be valid for the end of turn: the Sat/Sun midnight after.
- Late DoWs
Declarations of war may still be issued after the new DoW deadline, but at the automatic cost of -2 morale for 1 game year to those realms.
- Exceptions
The game's Chief Moderator may choose to either lessen, or completely negate the automatic late-DoW penalty, above, if it is deemed fit. The penalty is more likely to be lessened if you are declaring war in order to honour an alliance or similar agreement or obligation.
Make sure to make a note of your reasons in the DoW post you make in the Nat Stats thread, if you are at risk of receiving the penalty for issuing a late DoW.
I will not be held responsible if you issue your DoW just before the Sat/Sun turn deadline and fail to have the legitimacy of the DoW checked out before the end of the turn! Neither will exemptions from the Late DoW penalty be given once the turn has ended.
