This is a thread for recording, firstly, what decisions have been made regarding the new megacampaign; and, secondly, what is currently being discussed. I will edit as we go along. It is intended to be a resource so people can drop in and see what is decided and no longer subject to discussion, and what is still fluid and open for input. I suggest that nobody else post here.

Decisions
- I am the GM.
- Game names will be "Children of the Fatherland", "Day of Glory", "Tyranny's Bloody Banner", and "Ferocious Soldiers Roaring".
- The CK portion will have 12 players, as that is the practical maximum for stability.
- When we convert to EU3, China will be split into 3 roughly equal parts; each part will be given a different culture; and all three will be played if we can get players. Each sub-China will be buffed equivalently to what is done for other Asian nations, probably to include a starting God-King, Muslim tech, and a good starting treasury.
- CK will be modded to make Muslims human-playable; we will also break up the larger Kingdoms. Other modifications may also be considered.
Tentative lineup:
- King of Men (Byz)
- Varyar (Spain)

Ongoing discussion
- We are considering events to reward control of trade routes, eg an event that gives gold for controlling Malta, Tripoli, and the Baleares. An alternative is to make this a gold sink, by removing gold if you control (for example) Alexandria but not Crete.
- Limitations on army use. The current options with some support are
- No limits.
- An event chain making vassal troops hard to control.
- Limits on war gains and DOWs. Several options have been proposed:
- Gain no more than X provinces per war.
- Un-annexable core provinces for each player.
- Excommunication for declaring war on a player of the same religion unless a substantial bribe is paid to the Pope. (Or Orthodox Council, some large number of mullahs, or the conclave of shamans, as appropriate.)
- No force-vassalising anyone whose liege you are at war with.
- More stringently, neither force-vassalise nor force-annex if you're at war with the liege.
- Immortals: These are posters who are unable to play, but wish to have some input into the game. It is proposed to give them an ingame character, who as the name suggests will be kept young by edit and resurrected if killed, and who will move around between courts and have some power to affect the game by edits. Possible powers and restrictions:
- Gain stats by writing an AAR.
- Raise mercenaries for gold and command the resulting regiment.
- If killed, remain 'dead' for one session.
- Stab-hit their current realm by majority vote.
- First choice of EU3 nations.
- Fight each other by declaring an attack in the forums.
- Players can make Immortals official members of their court, or not. Only those whose presence is legal may be used as advisors. Their vote counts double for stability purposes, if that rule is used.
- Make your own suggestion. Be aware that epic mounts such as sharks with laser beams have been considered and rejected.
- Timeslot: Either the current NSRAN timeslot, or a similar time on Sunday. If there are enough players, we could have two games, one for each time.
