Truth be told, that really is insanely expensive. The only thing that makes it acceptable is the social opportunity, since nobody in their right mind would go to a theater on their own.
It's funny because I go to movie theatres to see movies (almost once per week and not for blockbusters), not really to be with friends (you don't talk in a theatre). So if no one wants to join me, I go alone. If someone wants, it's better. But I won't avoid going if I'm alone.

Back to the subject: I can afford it but, for principle, I wait for sales. And since last May-June drama, I avoid starting new PDS titles because I know that I'm a collector and I will get every DLC in the end. Which, in the long run, is very pricy. Games are good and long durability but I'd like to avoid spending 20€ per semester and per game for the next 5 years.

You're in the clear minority and wasting a lot of money then.

Since when is patience a bad thing?

Since games live off of hype-sales. Being "patient" basically means sitting down and doing absolutely nothing. Any and all desire to play a game simply wane over time if that is the policy desired.

If you're keeping up with DLCs on arrival, you're little better than a monthly subscription payer; if you're keeping up with DLCs on promos, you're playing a butchered game with badly integrated mechanics and lots of potential bugs that shouldn't exist, with very little support from Paradox and/or the modding community at large (everyone assumes you either have everything or nothing).

thats was what I meant actually but people didnt get it I think because I wasnt good at it
some people are usually like "heey I want to play this game now" when they look for a new game to start
when people see the game and notice it is over priced now instead of waiting they will pay their reserved money to someting else, to never return this game
if this game keep saying "if you want to pay actual price instead of double" they usually gonna lose more money than they gain by losing many potantial customers that LATER in date will insta buy any dlc they relased at future.

think of it you are looking to buy a new game... would you consider spending money to eu4 after seeing its total price? I would not thats why it was my friend who made me meet with game if it wasnt him I would skipped this game and didnt buy new relased dlcs

NEW CUSTOMERS ARE NOT GONNA WAIT FOR DISCOUNT PARADOX! Your new customers are people who want to start completly new game if you keep your prices up for your old games and intent to sell them with discounts you will miss them and send them to your rival games

Hype is a real thing and can be very strong sale strategy. Hype dies while you wait

.
This is simply not true. Most players are waiting for discounts anyway before buying a new game anyway let alone how most players are introduced to the said game on sales

that "most" part are people that know paradox and played paradox games! A company also wants to gain new players too and current system is only rellying on hoping players want to check this game on discount times or they are rich enought to ignore over priced cost

Might want to ask them, but I'm pretty confident a DLC's sales are far higher on first days of release than on any sale it gets discounted on. And profit-wise, the gap is even larger, since it's not lowered.

Most piracy control software, for example focus on avoiding early piracy, not totally locking down a piracy, because that's when most of the profits come along.

@remanemporor has a great video on the flaws of the Paradox DLC, and he briefly mentions that about release.
