Can we get an option to increase aggressive expansion and remove the natives. Playing with xormes incredible ai mod, the AI is incredibly competent. but there are never any coalitions, i see Austria Annex 7 hungarian and 7 hre provinces then a short couple years late they annex 2 free cities and nary a coalition. its 1520 and austria is close to forming germany, The ottomans own half of russia and took rome. no coalition. there seems to be no anti blobbing mechanics, also seeing the natives own most of america before colonizing is just... sigh

You are using a mod to make the AI better, and then you are complaining that the AI is better. I can see how the mod exacerbates the native issue, I guess they are more efficient at reforming and expanding, but I disagree that there should be coalitions. If you want the AI to be good (more player like), then don't complain if it achieves things that the player can also do.

I'm not complaining the ai is better im saying Aggressive expansion is way too lax and theres no real coalition system for generally large empires. These coalitions should exist to hinder the player too. Theyve coddled world conquest arcade players. if a nation grows vastly powerful quickly then others set aside differences and band together to knock them down. I.E napoleonic france. Theres no reason not to have a mechanic like this to be at least toggable

Dude I'm playing with Mindy's Masterful Mega Mod and there are too much coalitions! If anything, we need to nerf naval ideas because the AI never uses armies, they just fight naval battles.

I was told the ae is hardcoded and would be a bitch to change,
The coalition system is hardcoded, but how much AE you gain for various things and the AE threshold for joining a coalition can be changed in the defines. And with Defines overriding, you can change individual defines in a mod without risking incompatibilities with other mods(unless the mods somehow rely on a specific value for these defines).
It might even be possible to create an event which forms a coalition and immediately declares the coalition war before the AI can leave again.

There's a new modifier to add and remove AE coming in the next update, so maybe suggest to the mod author that they look into that

I think AE is in a pretty good spot at the moment and making it worse would make the game too slow for the player. You already need to chill several years if you're taking a couple provinces in the HRE.

EU coalitions are a punishment mechanic and do not in any way resemble even a single historical coalition war, ever.

What you are looking for is the AI to play better, and try to stop other runaways. Using a 100% fantasy mechanic will not get you there. If the AI is out-expanding you, then you are being outplayed by the AI.
