Hi Devs! Is there a way to dim the galactic core so it is easier to see and read systems and their names?

If not, could such an option be added to the game? Or maybe just make it so that as we get to the systems surrounding the core their names and icons change to an easier color that better contrasts against the bright backdrop?

For me as an older player I literally cannot see nor read many of the systems that surround the galactic core in my games. Oftentimes I don't even know there are systems to explore because they are washed out and blend in with the brightness of the core. White on white does not work for me. If I could change the colors of those systems that would be a major quality of life improvement.

I just wanted to ask. Thank you for the consideration.

I appreciate the tip. Thank you.

However, I learned long ago never to trust mods. I used a few in other games and paid the price with broken games and not being able to play them until I fully removed the games and mods and did clean re-installs without mods. It took a massive amount of time and was very tedious. Not my idea of fun.

If the developer breaks their game with an update then that's on them.

If I break the game with an unapproved, untested third party mod then that's on me. That's why I titled this "Dear Devs."

I was and still am hoping that Paradox will add a feature that makes the galactic core dimmer or allows for a greater contrast between it's brightness and the surrounding systems. Maybe they will work with the person(s) behind the mod you recommended and just add that to Stellaris? Give them a DLC for free as compensation for helping them out with improving the game? Dare to dream.

That’s not a problem with Stellaris.

Mods are installed in a separate place from the rest of the game and are activated/deactivated through the game launcher. There’s zero chance of permanently messing something up.

Even worse: I chose my custom empire's colors to look good and to compliment their aquatic origins... except the background color is very close to the color of starlanes and my own ships/fleets (from the galaxy view) and now it's nearly impossible to see my own stuff in my claimed territory. Gotta toggle off the coloring. Would be nice if we could change the empire colors after the fact, since I guess changing things like fleet or (open) starlane colors could be disorienting.
