Hi all.

As the title says... I think the whole system is wonky, unwieldy, primitive and the AI makes a mess out of it.

This is an emotional standpoint, but there's nothing that I hate more than when I inherit the presidency and I get 50 single-ship federation fleets.

I just can't stand it.

So please, refine it, make a separate system for it, allow only one federal fleet to be built in a consolidated entity and UI, or something...

Just refine this awful mechanic please. Don't need to redesign, but refine. Make it smoother, nicer. Remove the rust and that dangly part hanging from it. Polish.

I don't think they need to cap it, only lock the creation of new fleets (but not new ships) to the federation leader. Then add a way to merge fleets from the federation fleet manager (and the regular fleet manager).

I feel like the whole thing is just tied to the general fleet manager problem. As newly built ships normally just assign to the federation fleet and travel to it.

My concern is that AI is constantly making default ships to federation fleet. Even if i make new design and delete default one, the next time im president i see each ship has default design, and whole fleet (except ships i have build last time) are default... just make it that default designs will not shows up after being deleted.

Oh god, this too, yep...

Really, the whole system should be streamlined and restricted, there's way too much individual entities in the game.

I wouldn't mind if whole fleets were built and managed as a single entity, tbh., with no individual ships zipping around at all.

Like a shift to squadrons as a sub-element of a fleet entity.

I'd like Stellaris to go back to a grander scale in general, and dispense with the singular entity approach.

Or even defensive pacts for that matter. Joint war with AI = trap
Im never guarantee independence nor sign defensive pacts, both are forcing me not only to help, but also take all resposibility of their wars.

Maybe a button on the federation screen. "Gather all fleets". You click it all all federation fleets merge and go to the same system. At least with a single click you woukld have everything in one place.

Yeah I think you've hit the nail on the head. I should have taken a screenshot of my fleet outliner with its 50+ ships that were built to reinforce but couldn't fit in the fleet.

It would solve my specific and personal issue... but it would not improve the system itself that allows the problem in the first place.

As a band aid, yes, I agree. But the system needs refinement, it's really terrible for a mature and popular game in 2021
