Ugh, what's the best way to handle a AI's huge stack? I mean if ya attack it with too many div's then ya get the command penalty and a lot of times encircling it just isn't viable? Do ya just bite the command penalty bullet and throw everything at it?

No you attack it in waves... with TAC bombers doing infrastructure hits before hand to lower the Org recovery.

And does this actually help? I've tried and it seems to just deplete my org so fast while barely making a dent on them. Does the command limit only apply to units attacking from the same province or is it all units attacking the same province say from other provinces at the same time? Annnnd another Q, does supporting attackers apply to the command penalty as well?

with TAC bombers doing infrastructure hits before hand to lower the Org recovery.

Didn't think/know of this one, will have to try.

Well i tried it and it seems kinda pointless. AI just keeps bouncing divs up and down his line using support defense mission. Attacking in waves helps the defender more than it does the attacker from what I can see.

As first, you should cut off (from supply or at least from new units) the enemy's huge stack.

Attacking in waves makes sense. An example: you can attack from 3 provinces and you have 48 units in each province including a HQ in the middle (adjecent to all 3 provinces). You also have 6 FMs. In the first wave you attack from 3 directions with 3x24 units. If you loose, you attack immedetly (at 5:00 in the morning) with the second wave of 3x24 units. This way, the enemy has no time reorg/reinforce. If you have the resources, go with 3rd wave (in this case, this means, you have 3x3x24=216 units to attack, what is pretty high number)... With TACs, bomb first the INFRA. When the INFRA is near to 0%, start to bomb the forts (if there are any). When the fort is at 0, start with interdiction. It is important to start with INFRA bombing, otherwise the fort is fast rebuild and units reorg fast.

Hope this helped.

I learned recently also to bomb infra first, I also found it really helps to have some CAS doing the "ground attack" role, they really shred away division strength. It's also good if you aren't encircling them, because once you beat them out of the province, the CAS planes can keep hitting at their strength while they're retreating (and even destroy the more battered divisions, if any) so that you don't simply end up having to face the same thing one province back....Well i'm a newb too but that's my two cents.

Of course, if you are encircling them, then they will be wholly destroyed the second they lose the battle, instead of retreating and having to be hit at by CAS... ;)

What to do with big stacks:

1. Use HQ, for double you commander limit
2. Attack from so many directions, as you can. Don't forget about amphibious assault and paratroopers.
3. Use aviation. Destroying infrastructure decrease ESE, interdiction decrease organization, bombing decrease strength. You should start from Strategic. in this case org and str will restore slower.
4. Use shore bombarding. Your opponent could get up to -25% penalty.
5. Use the hardest units in narrow front. Armours with H-Arm or even SH-Arm work perfectly in this case.
6. Use waves. Attack, lose org, move back, rest, another attacks, etc.
7. Use engineers. If attack, they destroy opponent's infrastructure with high rate. So, engineers should be in first wave, and better on tanks, for longer period.
8. Encircle. Encircle one province, or even five.
9. Cut from supplies. Some times, it is easier, than encircle the big stack.
10. Use big stacks despite on penalty. In this case, use Militia totally as canon-fodder. For example, attack with general with 9Armors+21Militia. Armors will not suffer from penalty, and militia will attract 2/3 of shots.
11. Don't forget combine bonus.
12. Remember terrain and weather bonus too! Check for rain, frozen and muddy!
13. Use offensive supply. it will give you +10-20%
14. Don't forget about Artillery brigades. Big stacks is the case, where you need them.
15. Think, why you should deal with big stack? If so much units in this segment of front, then another segment should be somewhere, completely undefended.
