I've noticed that sometimes recently dead people still appear among the cortiers I can choose from when granting a title.

I figured I would try and see what happened if I granted the title to the dead person and now I have a bishop in a county who has been long dead, but he is still my vassal and his stats seem to count.

I HAVE AN UNDEAD BISHOP!!!! COOL...

This happens to me occasionally. A women who was not related to anybody, had never been in my court, died long before scenario start and had lowercase "of bar" as her dynasty.

lol, happened to me too. i was prince of novgorod and when i was granting titles to random people i noticed there was a dead bishop...so out of curiosity i granted him some title, lo and behold there he is....dead O_O.
it says he was born on 1040-1063, and the current date is 1070 O_O; freaky stuff.

Just wanted to confirm that this is a problem in 1.03b as I've patched my game.

It seems it only applies to bishops not regular counts. I can't grant titles to dead people, but I can make them bishops.

I just saw that this theme has been discussed here earlier, but it's certainly not fixed yet.

Nope, that woman definitely did not have an ecclestical education - and I was on the grant title screen.

I also would like to know how I managed to get an "of bar" when I was bulgaria. I seem to get the same woman apearring all the time. Sadly I don't have a save.

I've seen that myself, i usually "park" a few titles with the Kings sisters/daughters, and when one of them dies i inherit, press pause, and goes to "Grant title" to give the land to someone else...she's in my court, dead, along with all the useless (but living) people she had in her court.

If i let the game run for a day or two (game time, mind you), she dissapears.

Never tried giving them any titles, sounds like a sure way to make your game corrupt.

Anyway, it seems the game engine's "garbage collector" (i.e. removing dead people from various lists) only runs when the game changes days.
