Very small communits of mpers in here isnt it. I played a few mp games of CK and it was quite fun. THis was a few betas ago and everyone played count or duke games. Id much rather play a kingdom game myself. Scotland to be specific

So what are my chances of getting this to happen?

Quite a few games go on, but the people don't post on this forum. For example I know a couple "Finn-games" that are played with the vanilla 1.04a. I am dead sure there are lots of local groups around, the difficult thing is of course how to get into those games.

As for your question, I think the chances are slim atm. There is the Sunday game (March through times) and the Tuesday game (Kamikaze), and basically all of the players in those games have other Paradox games on other nights. And only die-hard fans are prepared to play with the current crash-rates (1-2 times per hour), altough the situation has gotten better from the days when only we die-hard fanatics played...

Eventually however, when we get a more stable beta for MP, I am sure people will flock back to CK MP. Last summer we had dozens of players here, then the betas introduced *very* nice changes but which also unfortunately totally killed MP for a couple of months (as it was impossible to play MP during a couple patches ), and people either played SP or didn't play CK at all But things are looking better for each day now.

So, I am sure when summer comes and we have a stable game again, you certainly will be able to play your belowed Scotland. At least it makes planning games a bit easier as Sterkarm wants Poland, Cheexh wants Scotland and at least three other players refuse to play unless they get Flanders

I haven't had time to do any MP testing myself and I haven't heard a peep about MP issues in the oublic beta forum. Can I safely take this to mean that there are no current MP issues above and beyond the ones that also apply to SP?

(Edit: I'm refering to the current public beta patches, of course)

I know of several MP sessions lately that has gone just fine. I think it's ok...

Edit: Seems I was a bit quick. Last time I tried we didn't have a single crash though...

Other than a lot of instability (crashes about every 2-4 years), it's working fine I'm pretty sure.

I find it often crashes when client sees some shield as empty or different as it really should be, I for one remember one case where a player declared war on Tirol (which had empty shield), crashed and found out he had declared war on Moskva (which apparently had Tirol's shield)...

Also the way how clients don't see provincial power group loyalties changed when they are changed by events can be annoying. One can go around this by asking the host what certain province has, but still. On this similiar matter, if you manually mobilize troops, the ruler the troops belong to sees -20 loyalty hit, but this is also something only host sees. It might be possible that event altering vassal loyalty don't show their effects correctly on clients as well and if that is the case, then it might be that some crashes are caused by vassals dowing, who shouldn't be dowing by the info clients have.

It's still enjoyable to play CK regardless and I hope to get some time to play too, when the most hectic beta process smoothens down.

After each patch I have tried to report on the beta-patch forum of MP problems found. Most of the biggest annoyances have been corrected, so even if Mr T. haven't noticed those posts, *somebody* has

Speaking of that, I'll post to the beta-forum today a list of things still bugging/annoying in MP (Byak listed a few already) so that they can be found in one thread instead of being one post in the middle of a gazillion posts regarding the "wrong" culture of some obscure hill-billy tribe somewhere

I have an ambition to play a succesful scotland in a ck-eu game. Ill have to perform well in the ck period and lead them through the ages to a great colonial empire.

In the mean time i need to get decent at this game. Thing is i have to time for single player. I dont play sp games at all anymore. why play ai when you have broadband and can play real people?

anyway, next time there is a kingdom game starting id like to join, times permiting. My icq is on my sig so if i miss it on the forum i hope someone will give me a message.

This thread is a few weeks old but I belive I've reached the end of the string as SP CK goes. Perhaps we should turn this into a spitball session for a MP game?


I personally play with the current Beta Patch and would think it would be very beneficial to the MP game given the cyclic crusades and a blue Il-Khanate.

Where abouts should we play? Scotland was mentioned, I wouldn't object to that.
