I think there should be no more de-dure duchies in the sense of where a few counties makeup a duchy, but rather of the idea of where every county in the game would each have its own duchy title available for you to create or destroy. Just like how the duchy of Venice is like in the game of where its only made up of 1 county.
I would have thought the effects of the idea would be like this…..
I would have thought the effects of the idea would be like this…..
- No more de-dure duchy wars between rulers and vassals which means it will harder to expand for smaller rulers, but will instead rely on claims and claimants to expand out.
- Holy wars will be fought over for only 1 county now, rather than just taking an entire area all at once which will slow down the large powerful empires who can mess up the balance of power later on in the game.
- If a king has a lot of counts in his kingdom, and if his vassals all create their own duchies and become dukes in the game. He could well go over the vassal limit much more often if he expands his kingdom far too big and cannot transfer a lot of his own vassals over to his other vassals due to their tier rank in order to keep under the vassal limit.
- When it comes to the death of a ruler who has children and duchy titles and has the gavelkind succession law. The land could be divided in a much better and cleaner way compared to how it is now.
