de-corrupting Ironman saves

is it possible to "uncorrupt" an ironman save? it ended up a mess when my computer suddenly froze mid-game, and I was only able to get out of the status quo (ie. the computer not responding at all) by physically forcing a shutdown.
now, whenever I load the game (it still loads almost fine), I get something like a few "Stockholm####" in my demesne (as well some realms became oddly independent)

is it still possible to fix this save (I can load it, but some funkiness ensues) ? I was quite enjoying it too :laugh:

As soon as you show me how to unscramble an egg, I'll show you how to uncorrupt a computer file

Probably your best shot is the old hands in the User Mods forum, as they are more used to diagnosing problems in non-standard save games.

ironman saves aren't loadable via notepad though (I just get all those funky characters and boxes) for understandable reasons, and even if it were extracted it'd probably end up flagged as a "mod" and thus non-ironman in the end

but yeah, I'll get back to you on the unscrambling an egg part though, once we finish this time-rewinder device we've been working on :laugh:
