As christmas gift, i would like paradox to improve some aspects of the game for the next patch or (more realistic) for a new HOI opus, let's call it HOI3!
1) AI ! : Ok, i'm not dreaming, that's the most difficult part of the programming job. Chess games have excellent ai because they store TONS of already played games so the ai just check what the best players did in a similar situation and then select a move. For HOI, it's quite impossible because of the huge world map and the tons of parameters.
But production queues, fleet and army composition, etc... should be reprogrammed without too much difficulty. Let even the AI cheat more to obtain a better opponent! Ok, it is sometimes frustrating to face bombers coming from alaska to bomb the ruhr but sinking AI carrier fleets without screens or huge (100+) fleets too easy to destroy are ruining the game f.e...
what do you think about that ?
2) Game design ! : personally, i prefer having a 2d game engine running fast on slow computers with ugly counters instead of having a CIV4-like engine with animated combats... Wargames don't need EU3 style engines unless code is fully optimized for prehistoric computers!
3) Time Period ! : Let's start in 1933 like the french mod. 1954 is according to me a good date to stop.
4) Research ! : More small technologies to get small bonuses for infantry/interceptors/cruisers to get a more customized army.
Any other suggestions ?
