DD#16 disgusting

I'm sorry to say it but the DD # 16 was the most disgusting thing I've read on this forum so far (and it's been a few years). What is the purpose of these so called features described there ? Do you really have to include detailed descriptions of torture, executions and mutilation and the mechanisms to inflict them into this game ? And please, don't tell me about historical accuracy. Gaming is about fun, not accuracy. If you really think that torturing and mutilating NPCs, engaging in cannibalism and desecrating corpses is fun then you should take a cold hard look at yourselves.
Anyway after this DD count me out of this DLC. I wonder if I will be able to have any fun from playing CK2 in the future as well. Thank you for this, really, thank you...

This may not be an explicitly mature game, but neither is it a game aimed at children. A lot of the people who play the game are eager for historical accuracy, as brutal as it may be. If you just want your version of "fun", then I suggest you either don't use the dlc or go back to whatever neutral and timid experience you had previously. And let's just say this once and for all, for a lot of people the experience of enjoying something that is more mature or historically accurate is fun.

I often engage in two of those, as they're already in the game: 'guards oil up the rack' and lunatic carouser. Not to forget castration and blindings

The first DLC outright encouraged you to jail and execute your own brothers for no reason.
The second major DLC let you turn kids into eunuchs. Oh, and also you could blind them too for good measure.
The very popular 5th DLC let you do all sorts of horrible things, like steal women and turn them into concubines, sacrifice innocent people to the Gods, sibling marriages etc.
The sixth DLC let you launch flipping pogroms to expel all Jews and steal their property.
The tenth DLC let you commit genocide by pillaging entire provinces until nothing was left.

CKII has always been like this. People enjoy the gruesome stories the game generates. Really if you don't like hearing about bone-chilling medieval intrigue, why are you playing a game where murdering your parents and in-laws for profit is a pretty standard strategy?

I've gotta be honest, i hardly ever roleplay enough to get any use out of even 1/4 of the new execution methods or the new ways to torture people. So they are certainly not a big selling point for me when deciding when to buy the DLC and how much i wanna pay. But from there to be judgemental and disgusted there is a long way. CK is a sandbox. Why not let people play as they want without judgement OP

I object. Murdering your parents is pointless. Inlaws, yes. Siblings, yes. But not parents. No point in killing them, unless you are afraid you'll die first, and your succession laws are not aligning.

If your father holds a title and you want it then plotting makes sense if you're worried about not getting your hands on it soon enough, for instance if you're wanting to start a war against a stronger enemy or if your father uses gavelkind and any future children he has might inherit.
