You have no idea what I was talking about. Maybe I formulated my initial sentence a little wrong but it does not matter as that was not my point at all and you would be able to easily understand that since you have quoted my followup post. But since you don't I will write it again in a different way: Since the start of them releasing DDs for the different games they have had 1 DD per week. So don't come here and pick out an irrelevant part of my initial post to try to invalidate my actual point which I made since the very beginning.

Stop it, just stop the bickering! A dev has already pointed out your statement was incorrect and now you are acting hostile to others.

Fact is, that we all would love to get new info more often and it would be nice to at least get estimate, when DDs are planned to become more frequent.

in that case, I doubt Q2 release date.

Personally, me too. I think August seems likelier. Beta typically take ~6 months, so it seems that will be the time to look to.

At any rate, when we start seeing weekly DDs, and when the call goes out for beta-testers, then we'll know to expect release within a month or two. I don't think it helps at all for people to get angry about this kind of thing.

Well they have redone HOI4 from the ground while EU4 was a heavly modified EU3 so it should have taken much more time to get everything working.
However this should also get a much bigger improvement in HOI then EU4 did for EU serie on release.

Jesus, if I worked on this game I would probably never read the forum.

EUIV got DDs every two hours? All other Paradox games got videos every day? That doesn't mean a thing. And certainly doesn't give you the right to demand more frequent diaries or to complain about the lack of them.

I'd love to know what makes you think that... Just because you may see similarities, doesn't make it a heavy modification. Unless you have access to the source code of both, how can you quantify your "fact"?

It has nothing to do with the code but similarities in design, I think it is rather correct to say that EU4 is a heavy modification of EU3 design.
I did mean compared to what HOI4 looks like compared to HOI3.
I think most people would say that EU4 and EU3 is much more similar then HOI3 and HOI4.

Well looking similar and the amount of code that changed are 2 different things. In this case, I can safely say, it is in no way shape or form just a heavy mod of EU3.

Having similar design or different design are also two different things.
Going for different design (HOI3 to HOI4) probably adds alot of extra work compared to using similar design (Eu3 to Eu4).

Well podcat also said they released the info to quickly. I can't seem to find his post at the moment.. and I agree with that. They should've waited until after christmas with releasing DD's. But hey at least we had some already, and they clearly stated HoI IV is too important for them to let it sink. I'm not feeling too worried.

I think from lack of timely DD we can infer that HOIIV likely will be delayed again.

There always seems to be a reason why so why don't happen.

Is a debate on DD's really necessary? The devs have said that they can't release one on time because of ParadoxCon, but they'll release one promptly after. Even better, we hopefully will get to see perhaps a HOI IV stream during Pdxcon
