Nobody is forced to get the expensive edition and I don't think anymore is needed to be said.
You are obviously missing the point of the outrage.
Let me explain. The issue people like me take has two sides to it:
1. We are simply raising an issue to think about both in how Paradox sell their games and how people understand these sales. When there is so much hype for a game like this people are VERY quick to press the buy button without thinking first about all the aspects of buying something like that. There is nothing wrong about raising valid arguments for ordering a product prior to having any kind of glimpse of it and telling people "think about a, b and c before you make the purchase".
2. Speaking for myself here - If I didn't care about Paradox I'd say "screw it, let them do what they want". But I do care about this company since they make games I like and I don't want to lose my faith in it. And sales tactics such as these make a person like me doubt if Paradox will remain the outstanding company it was until now. When I buy a Paradox game I want to do it care free and not have to look for hidden surprises like this one, a mature consumer might be able to see the problems at a first glance but not someone who makes their first purchase.
And to be honest it would make me feel awfully terrible if I see the same sales tricks from Paradox as those that I see from big companies like EA, Activation and Ubisoft. I want to give my money to Paradox without feeling that I managed to "avoid the traps" like I do when I go to purchase a product from the previously mentioned companies. DLC's are about choice and allowing you to choose which elements of the game you want to ADD to your base game, there is no choice here - only promises for a base that isn't out yet and when they are out they are part of your game since you already bought them without knowing if you even wanted to add these elements or pay for them.
Anyone who continues to drum "you don't have to if you don't want to" is either missing the point or avoiding it intentionally, I am not retarded, I know there is no forcing of anything here, this is about my legitimate concern for the "soul" of this company and what it considers to be an honest approach to their customers and what is considered a "less honest" approach.
With that said, I am going to preorder the Cadet Edition of the game from the Paradox store to make sure they have every penny to make good DLC's for those who purchased the other editions
