No. That is the fuckton (which is the metric unit of all things HoI). As in, "the United States has a metric fuckton of IC". The shitton is a lesser amount, which I would hazard to guess is about 3/4 of a fuckton. :D

Man, the US must be sinking under the weight of all their factories. Think how much $$$ they are generating via consumer goods.....probably 50/day or more. Also, note their preponderance of capital ships. Considering that of their 150 smaller ships, probably close to 75 are either transports or submarines, its possible they dont have enough destroyers and light cruisers to properly screen their capital ships and heavy cruisers.

As a side note....is this AAR dead?

trekaddict, gianlucad, Enewald, Mico94 - They won't be producing much infantry because they will suffer the -90% MP penalty as every other Axis country (I shall remind that I modified the difficulty). India will stay under German rule for now...

quantum - ... IC, on the other side, is very welcome.

ve3609 - Thanks and welcome. As noted in the first post, the mod is World in Flames.

PrawnStar, ColossusCrusher, CaptRobau - ColossusCrusher is correct, the metric f*ckton is an incredibly huge amount, most likely a factorial. A sh!tton I'm not very aware of its exact quantity, though.

TheRealKestrel - Whichever is the distribution of their navy vessel, I'm in for some heavy confrontations, someday. And no, this AAR is not dead, for I am pretty much alive and kicking. Well, not that kicking perhaps, but alive for sure. Alas, I cannot update as much as I wished, no.

ColossusCrusher - Wish granted. Expect an update in some hours.

The Grey Phoenix

0200 December 8th 1947
Dhaka, India

A wrecked Armor division did its best to defend against four German divisions.

133-01-Dhaka.jpg

Needless to say, the helpless British would be smashed in no time, as German armour continued towards their destination - the eradication of Allied forces in the Far East.

0000 December 16th 1947
I. Armeekorps Headquarters, Kathmandu, Nepal

It was a bright day in Germany as another World Power had been soundly crushed by the German forces.

133-02-NepalAnnex.jpg

Lt. General Busse valiantly vanquished the enemy defenses; now, Nepal and their treacherous forces of doom wouldn't harm the Germans anymore.

133-03-SAM.jpg

With the ever-intensifying Allied bombings, German scientists were motivated to find better and alternative ways on countering the Allied air menace. A new project was envisioned in which Surface-to-Air missiles could become reality.

133-04-TurbojetEscort.jpg

133-05-ImpAirCarrier.jpg

Other fields of research made progress too, as a Turboject Escort Fighter and an Improved Air Carrier had been developed by Messerschmitt and Kriegsmarinewerft respectively. Research would now begin on Turbojet Strategic Bombers and Basic Semiconductors.

0000 December 28th 1947
German-occupied India

Several new Russian divisions would bolster the German forces in India.

133-06-IndiaRussia.jpg

Bombay was still in English hands, and the dug-in defenders proved hard-nosed against Luftwaffe raids. A new attack was envisioned with the new Russian divisions in mind.

133-07-Bhutan.jpg

Another superpower was being threatened by German forces, as a large part of the Bhutanese army had been attacked in their capital by seven German divisions. The fate of this Allied power was sealed.

I demand to know the story of those Russian divisions, at least on regimental-scale of every regiment! Also, where is Vlassov?

Don't look at me, look at Vlassov. He should be commanding them.

ve3609 - I appeal to the International System.

Enewald - Even with their -90% MP penalty, Russia still produces some good divisions.

Storm501 - Your demand shall be forwarded to the Bureau of Russian Regiments, set up for this occasion. All its workers are vodkaholic, so don't expect a timely answer. Vlassov is deep down in some leader pools along with thousands other forgotten leaders yelling that he gets out of there.

Author's note: I guess I might aswell reveal one reason of the updates slugginess. I have quite long ago taken the decision of interrupting the gameplay of this AAR in light of the upcoming Arsenal of Democracy. I still have updates to cover till April 1948 - that is, four months of gameplay - then, once AoD is out, I will proceed to convert the savegame to AoD. It will be slow and painstaking much like this AAR - but the effort should be well worth it. Until then, enjoy these sparse and rare updates.

Cabinet Meeting January 1948

0015 January 1st 1948
Lake Baikal, Soviet Union

134-01-Cabinet.jpg

Amidst the endless, frozen wastelands of Siberia, under a clear dark sky, a small group of men gathered to discuss about important affairs of the Soviet Union. There was no Kremlin anymore for Stalin, and since the latest post-war census reported a population of 86 in the entire Soviet Union, there wasn't much free manpower to build a decent palace for the leader of Communism.

A freezing wind would have stymied every will to talk, but it did not dent the robust constitution of those men who were used to such climate - let alone dent the fearsome build of the Man of Steel.

"Welcome to our annual meeting, comrades. Please take a seat."

Everybody sat on the frozen ground, as there were no seats around.

"Good day everyone. Let's begin this wonderful meeting!" Stalin's voice was that of a triumphant leader. Not one his ministers had been used to hear. "Who can enlighten me on how well our Soviet Union has progressed last year? Why, only my Beria can. Please Lavrenti, give us a brief report on Soviet Union's economical and political breakthroughs."

"With much delight, comrade Sectretary.

It was another hot summer deep into the central-asiatic steppes, when our fellow comrade Molotov came back apiece from the evil, warmongering Teutons and brought us, with his art of diplomacy, the joys of peace."

134-03-SOVCapitulates.jpg

"Our two great peoples could finally live in peace! The genius of Molotov was brilliant: so kind was the peace treaty, we would even keep what was still ours!

Even the treacherous Allies made peace with us, forming their new Siberian puppet. Yes, we are sandwiched between two superpowers. Yes, we have suffered an enormous degree of damage and pain. But we're still free!

Six months have passed since then. Not enough for six years of brutal war. But now, now the Soviet Union will arise from the ashes once again."

"Thank you comrade Beria. That is exactly what I wanted to hear. Now, on to our more mundane facts. Where is our Armaments Minister... Bulganin?"

An old man emerged from the darkness, carrying a fishing rod and two smelly fishes. He was Nikolaj Bulganin, Soviet Union's Armaments Minister.

"Ah, I see our economy is improving by the day!" Stalin exclamated, staring at the fruits of his minister's work.

"Indeed comrade secretary. Last month we've captured around thirty omul fish, even managing to avoid those pesky Siberian guards on ice."

halt_hammerzeit.jpeg

"Always good to see some improvement. Too bad those Siberians don't recognize our legitimate rule over lake Baikal, our sole source of sustainance! Zhukov, how many men are currently guarding the lake?"

134-02-Lake.jpg

"I am delighted to announce that we now have a grand total of three soldiers guarding the southern and northern flanks of the lake! Comrades, please meet Grigor, our latest conscript of the Red Army.

With three soldiers, we can now fish while one of them signals the arrival of Siberian guards."

"Wonderful! You have great responsibility on your shoulders, Grigor." Stalin gave a pat on his back as he smiled.

"Actually, my name is Alexei, comrade Secretary."

"It's okay Grigor, now go take your weapons from our good Chief of the Red Army. Georgiy!"

"Yes comrade."

"Are we finished building the third sling?"

"Yes comrade. Meretskov worked hard on it the last three nights as he couldn't find a single piece of wood the shape of a sling."

Chief of Staff Meretskov then continued "And then I got lost. Fortunately Novikov found me, and showed me that we can build slings by assembling some pieces of iron. The wonders of science today!"

"See comrades, by working together nothing is impossible - nothing like those greedy capitalists. Comrade Grigor, here are your weapons and ammunition. Now, enjoy your stay in the Red Army!"

Zhukov raised a finger and pointed a way to the newest recruit of the Red Army. The recruit immediately obeyed, marching towards darkness, till he disappeared.

"Good boys like these are rare to find nowadays. Let's hope he makes a good job so we can fish more. Now, all this talk about fish has made me hungry. I think we can declare this meeting over and proceed to our daily meal. Molotov?"

"Yes comrade."

"What's on the menu today?"

"An excellent portion of Omul fish, Comrade Secretary, along with sea-food Omul Risotto and a dessert of Omul chocolate, all combined with some 100% Lake Baikal vodka with ice."

"Wonderful. That is some glorious meal. Comrades, let us begin the meal."

Cabinet Meeting January 1948

0000 January 1st 1948
Underground Bunker, Berlin, Germany

Reaching the start of a new year was quite an event for the German cabinet. Since when the Nuclear armageddon hit Germany during 1947, the danger of death personally touched even the most powerful men of Germany. Since then, they would reunite in an underground bunker near the remnants of the Reichstag, which was destroyed along with large parts of the city when a nuclear bomb hit Berlin.

136-01-Production.jpg

The damp room, barely lit by artificial lights - some depressing white lights - offered shelter to the German cabinet.

"I guess no visit to Adolf this year?"

"Too risky. Let them rot in their prison; we have better business to attend to. Albert, let us begin this meeting. How is the state of our industry?"

"We are doing miracles Martin, although there is still much room for improvement. Dissent is down to a manageable feat, although still very high, and our industry is slowly growing back to acceptable levels. Still, almost no industry is aiding our war efforts, as we run severe supplies shortages which our allies can't help.

We've had almost no casualties this month. Fighting has been scarce in December, with the annexation of Bhutan and some skirmish in India against the British. Other casualties involve the Russians, however, our puppet, as a large part of our forces in India are in fact Russian and Ukrainian divisions."

"Schacht, an insight on our technological progress."

"I say we can be satisfied with our current state. 1947 has been an year in which we tried to bridge the gap of certain fields of research - Nuclear Research being the most important topic. Results have been encouraging, as we now know how to build a Nuclear Bomb. The nuclear attacks against our nation has greatly hampered the project, but we estimate to be able to build one prototype in two months. In other fields we're even ahead of everyone else, such as in the field of Rocketry - recently we have developed a Ballistic Missile, while the Allies don't even know what it is."

136-02-01-Tech-Infantry.jpg

"Infantry. Almost no research is needed here."

136-02-02-Tech-Armor.jpg

"Armor. As we can't win Air Superiority in Europe, trying to increase the efficiency of our AA is a must."

136-02-03-Tech-Naval.jpg

"Naval. We have done some research on Carriers last year, but I doubt we're going to build a navy this year."

136-02-04-Tech-Air.jpg

"Air forces. We have some of the most advanced aircraft in the world, but we can never compete with Allied sheer numbers."

136-02-05-Tech-Industry.jpg

"Industry. There is nothing much to research here anymore; still, research on manpower growth is fundamental in these dire times."

136-02-06-Tech-LandDocs.jpg

"Land doctrines. No research is needed here for many years to come."

136-02-07-Tech-Secrets.jpg

"Secret weapons. Perhaps our only hope to survival reliese on these weapons. Eventhough we have already completed the blueprints of a working Nuclear Bomb, we believe there is much room for improvement. Heisenberg is half-way through a new model of Nuclear Bomb already."

136-02-08-Tech-NavalDocs.jpg

"Naval Doctrines."

136-02-09-Tech-AirDocs.jpg

"Air Doctrines."

"Indeed those nuclear devices will probably be our only means to counter American supremacy. Heinz, what is the current state of Europe? Are the revolts being dealt with?"

"More or less yes, eventhough there is still widespread dissent outside the borders of Germany. Especially in France, Scandinavia, Poland."

136-03-Europe.jpg

"We have a large enough number of divisions to deal with all these open revolts, and I can only hope that the situation ameliorates in the future."

136-04-Scandinavia.jpg

"Scandinavia is being ravaged by armed revolts. We only have few divisions to quell all of them."

136-05-India.jpg

"India, on the other side, is doing remarkably well. Little to no British forces hamper our progress and we expect to control the whole peninsula in a few months."

"Hjalmar, intelligence."

136-06-UKEsp.jpg

"The British have lost seven industrial complexes last month. The loss of India is hurting them moderately, eventhough they still possess a large industrial base, and stockpiles to run it for the next three thousand years probably."

136-07-USEsp.jpg

"The Americans, I only wished they could implode under the sheer weight of their power. They are scary. I am not even going to give numbers once again."

"Point taken. As long as they don't set foot in the Balkans, they can have all the industry in the world. Hjalmar, Heinz will stay here. The rest can go back to business."

Allied Dominance

0400 January 2nd 1948
Punakha, Bhutan

Shortly after the annexation of Nepal, another mighty Country would soon meet its same fate.

137-01-Punakha.jpg

Bhutan itself was under siege, and its only division wouldn't stand for long. Twenty-three Chinese divisions were watching the show from the northern edge of the Allied soon-to cease-to-exist Country.

137-02-Bombay.jpg

The other forces in India were making easy progress. Bombay fell to German advancing forces with little resistance from English troops.

1430 January 4th 1948
Rommel's HQ, Gaza, Middle East

History was full of twisted irony, as the British, who had successfully kicked the Axis out of Africa in 1943, would be given a sound defeat from the opposite direction - the Middle East - by the same opponent once feared and respected - Erwin Rommel.

Albeit strong and clearly more powerful than Germany, the UK was suffering two stinging defeats at the hands of the outnumbered Germans, who had occupied the Suez Canal and destroyed the Jewel of the Crown, India.

Such thoughs filled Rommel's heart with glee. Such dire times for Germany!, and yet his few troops beat the UK out of its most important assets.

"Herr Rommel, important news from the front."

"What front, aide? There are no Tommies in the Middle East for sure."

"That seems to be no longer the case."

137-03-Haifa.jpg

Unbeknownst to the few Germans defending the beaches, a large number of vengeful British divisions landed in Haifa without any resistance. Rommel's mobile forces would immediately drive to Tel Aviv and try to "seek contact" with the invaders before they could spread out.

137-04-BhutanAnnex.jpg

Von Ribbentrop, in the meanwhile, was pleased to remove yet another red flag from his worldmap. Bhutan would menace Germany's interests no more.

137-05-IndiaProgress.jpg

Surely aroused from the conquest of Bhutan, German troops set a race for the complete conquest of India, almost completely devoid of British troops.

137-06-Haifa.jpg

Four days after the British landing, Rommel's mobile corps quickly reached the invaders and tested their forces. Just three days after, the ten British divisions would find themselves outnumbered and outmatched by the far more experience troops of the Desert Fox.
