OK!
I've got this crazy idea for a mod that I really want to do and I don't have any modding experience, so I want to gain some. I just need a little help from my friends, if you can dig it. If you have the time, please read on.
I have cursory programming experience, so I can follow the actual modding/programming relatively easily; I just don't have the specifics WRT the Paradox games.
What I need is a scenerio template of sorts; if such a thing exists, please direct me towards it! I tried the Scenerio Editor, but it didn't look too useful. Maybe I overlooked it too easily. Otherwise, read on!
To the Gedankenexperiment! Let's say that I want to create a scenerio where there is only one empire in existence in the world (or two, if the game requires > 1 empires to exist). What are the basic files I need to run such a scenerio (using moddir)? To make it simple, let's assume that this is a user-made nation with french culture and catholic religion, with the french flag, with land in, say, the iberian penisula, and the rest of the world uncolonized. What are the base files I need to include/edit for such a scenerio to run under EU2?
What I am trying to determine is the base necessary files I need to include for such a mod so that the game can run it. From this base I can add content and figure out what I need to mod as I go; kind of hands-on experience.
Don't direct me to Harvard's site, I've already bookmarked it; a very informative place which will be indispensible in my quest. But it doesn't give (or at least I haven't found) a step-by-step guide to creating your own scenerio. What I need is a template, a very basic foundation on which I can build. Hence this Gedankenexperiment; if you can help I would appreciate it!
Also let me know if my request is insane and/or makes no sense. Thanks!
