1. Strike shiney disk hard three times with hammer.
2. Place in microwave for 10 seconds.
Remove. Careful, it will be warm.
3. Get a fork from the kitchen.
4. Fill bathtub with water.
5. Stand in tub holding disc in one hand and fork in the other.
6. Hold disc in left hand and push fork into an open outlet with the right hand.

Of course, this might not work for everybody. But I haven't heard of any failures.

Arngrim, If you fill the tub with enough water footwear should not be a problem. I urge you to try again.

As you are the first person I have known to report a problem with this procedure I suggest you return the game for a full refund because learning to play the game is ALOT harder than following my very careful and precise instructions.

I guess you can take solace in that you will be celebrating your 24th birthday soon. I'm sure your teachers look forward to your promotion to second grade. Something you should feel right proud of! :)

Using a lot of force resulted in a satisfying screeching and cracking sound inside my Commodore 1541 II drive. While pleased with this, the game still doesn't work unless I manually paint a map and soldiers onto the screen of my monochrome monitor (now I finally have a different colour than amber). However, when I am finished the screen appears to be frozen, nothing moves on it.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Video driver? I thought this was a computer game, not a video game! :(

By video driver he means a person which sits in you monitor and steers the movement on the screen. Actually I would call him video director not driver. I still do not know why the method mentioned above did not work for you. I use it all the time. Are you sure you have the 'right size fork'. That tool is very important in receiving any sounds from the CD or your girlfriend. BTW I always use rubber shoe before playing the CD or a Girlfriend with my fork! :D

Thanks for the definition of video driver. It greatly helped me understand my 'puter better. As for the rubber shoes - I use those rubber pants that you use for wading into rivers etc. I dare not use a different type of shoe, because water has an incredibly irritating effect on my skin: it makes it all wet. Would it work if I let some other person (ex-girlfriend, annoying relative, aggravating colleague from the job) do the prcedure? Or will it work only with me the biyer of the CD?

I have to admit I have given up. This shiny disc is obviously faulty.

Firstly it has a hole in it (I don't know how that got through quality control - it's so big you can put your finger through it).

Secondly Paradox have clearly forgotten to put print on one side of the disc. Clearly it is no wonder if it fails to work.

I would say to Paradox and all associated with this software that in future you must ensure that it is properly tested before you inflict it on the unwitting consumer!

Storm.

I have recently learned that the disk that is causing you so much consternation is simply a very small record that contains the sound files for the game. A code is also on the record so you can download the actual game but you must have a record player by your computer so you can play the small record while you play the game. I think this is a great idea and should have been done years ago. Just think of space you save on your hard drive. The sound quality is also so much better. The only drawback is that I had to get rid of my lamp, phone, clock, pen holder, printer and some other stuff to make room for the record player on my desk. Oh well, you have to make some sacrifices for technological advancements.
