Creating a communist Germany in 1933 by event just isn't plausible...

Sure it is, Communist were strong thoose days too, they were about even strong and had their militionaire and political soldiers too. In berlin they were fights and riots against each other for years, plus in the reichstag they were about even. They had the Rotfrontkämpferbund which is similar to the sa which was forbidden in the year 1929, but with a good campaign the red troops could had rise and defetead the right-wings. Many in the SA were left nationalist and if they had known how much Hitler worked with the Industry and Financial Kapital they had switched side either. The spd had a paramilitary organisation too, the reichsbanner. And imagine the sdp would have went back to their workin class roots and reunited with the kpd in a so called "einheistfront" against hitler. The method was put into practice in Germany in 1922-1923, and for a time proved effective in winning workers to revolutionary socialism.

What the hell did you guys change?

I am working on a mod right now, and it worked fine in 1.02b1/Aug 4th, but now, with exactly the same files in 1.02b2, it just doesn't work anymore.

I get into the scenario fine, I can click on everything; ledger, maps, units, even set units to cross upgrade, enter commands into the console, but the moment I unpause, the game crashes.

That's the only change to game files from 1.02b1 to 1.02b2. Are you sure you applied them correctly?
Also, try running the game in debug mode (go to settings.cfg and set debug to 1 or 2) and then check savedebug.txt, it may help you identify the problem.

Look, I did all the savedebug.txt stuff and fixed all the non-map errors it reported (because those are yours). It didn't help one bit, so I started categorically removing files and folders.

Now I am down to the country files, but seeing how everything works fine with the previous patch, and I don't really want to go through 64 files without a clue what to look for, I 'd like you give this to the programmer for debugging.

I don't know if I must post here, but let's go.

I played a couple of games with these new beta patch, and this is my feelings.

Decision are goods but maybe have to be adjusted to power and money production of country. The USA can easily get to 125% of research in 1940, and produce in the same time. For Germany it's really hard (or you give up spy) (I don't mention Italy). there's too much technology to reasearch, it's impossible to get historical technologies even with the quality of german techteam. Maybe give some blueprints (for example : a blueprint for AA-brigade when you finished AA tech)

The France is really a great power, really hard to beat, there should be an effect of his morale when german units reach France, without forget the effect of refugees on movements and counter attacks. For now, Germany can win but it's too expensive in manpower. It shouldn't be easy and France should have a chance to defend itself. In CORE mod for HoI 1, there was a crush in moral and effectivness of french troops but a technology (if you were strong enough to hold the line) delete the malus.

I just downloaded the 23 oct exe file and started DH up. The checksum I got is still DQWR, same as before. This is good, right? As I understand it, this is to be the release candidate for 1.02?
The latest exe fixes some of the reported bugs, but not all (for instance the Italy 1940 OOB with 15 HQ's). You will not be releasing the corrected .inc files, ai files, etc. for this beta before 1.02 goes gold?
Can't really test play balance this way.
