By 1941 it was obvious that peace wasn't on the table and the war was only going to end one way.

In addition to those two offers, Hitler offered Britain and France peace during the invasion of Poland, in which he offered to retreat from large parts of Poland. Hitler actually wanted to preserve a rump-Poland to serve as a buffer state with the Reich and Soviet Russia, but Stalin insisted that Poland be wiped off the map entirely. This would-be rump-Poland then became the General Gouvernement.

Yes, out of necessity. He was someone who wanted nothing more than to restore the greatness of Germany and break the shackles of the Treaty of Versailles.

Everything about history that I write on these forums are historical facts I've picked up from various reliable sources throughout the years. I don't spend my Christmas holiday searching around Google just to prove I'm right. Now I'll make a quick exception though and check my source on Hitler's peace-deal to the UK and France. That source is Erich von Manstein's memoirs, Verlorene Siege, translated into English as Lost Victories.
