I just encountered a relatively minor bug while designing ships to finally stomp this annoying spiritualist FE. Whenever I save a ship design that includes a Dark Matter Powerplant or Propulsion, both revert back to old components (lvl 5 and 4). It's quite annoying since I don't want to keep using my old, inefficient fleet design. Has anybody else experienced this kind of bug? Is there any trick to make it work, or do I have to wait for the developers to fix the game?

Just a guess...but does your empire have stocks of dark matter to build with? Maybe they won't save designs they can't actually make?
Thanks for replying, but I actually do have Dark Matter at my disposal.
Maybe I was not clear enough : the Save button works, the changes just cancel when you leave the window

I've encountered something like this. Here's what's probably happening:

Your ship already DOES have the Dark Matter tech. But the game wants you to revert to the old stuff, so it makes a template and lights up the Save Button. Sort of going "Ooh, ooh, is this what you meant, Player? I've got it all set up, just hit Save whenever you're ready!"

To test this, manually set your design to what it should be, and see if the Save goes gray at that.

You're probably right, just upgraded a bunch of battleships and they seem to have the tech, sooo I guess it's not a game-breaking bug. Still has to get fixed eventually
