Heh. It's not the most amusing place I've seen the Shia Caliphate pop up (that, by far was in a Roman Empire game of mine where they popped up in Georgia a couple of decades or so after I had finished wiping the Caliphate up in Egypt. The bit that amused me was that the boy-Caliph was Georgian culture).

Huh. Is that civil war in the HRE an Independence or a succession crisis (by which I mean any 'I don't like you as Emperor, I want a new one' war) war?

Any idea how well it transfers into EU IV? I wouldn't want the game to either a) make me non-Muslim, or b) be too buggy to make a good AAR out of.

I think it'll be all right?. I suspect the only potential problem you may run into is if you're set on your dynasty name being the name of the converted nation- iirc, the Roman Empire always stays 'Roman Empire' no matter your culture.

Converted religion will be fine. You may want to be careful about blobbing too far north, though… mostly for fun purposes.

I am, at this point, thinking of transferring the game over early. It's impossible to play; there are at least two peasant revolts and one war for independence at all times. I win each of these wars without any effort, but then another pops up. And the CONSTANT bombardment of 'important' messages that I cannot make disappear are aggravating. I can't stand running an empire as big as mine.

I'm going to form the Roman Empire and transfer the game, I think.

I've caught up and am now subbed nice AAR, I especially enjoyed the part where you were about a century in the game and you had that twenty-year period of civil war, a dozen or so different rulers in about as many years and 30 prisoners.

I can imagine you wanting to transfer early, what with revolts all the damn time and I must say I like the idea of a Muslim Roman Empire.

That seems like a good, round number at which to change over. It's just unplayable. Also buggy, what with the CONGRATULATIONS ON RESTORING THE ORTHODOX PATRIARCHY stuff.

Also; it's gotten to the point where waging a war against any other country is almost unmentionably easy. I totally forgot to take screenshots of a war against Lotharingia (in Italy) because it just didn't feel very important. Then suddenly I owned all of Italy. Oops.
