Dar al-Islam: Taking a Muslim Emir through two games, from 867 to 1820

The title is fairly self explanatory, really. I'm taking a Muslim Emir (of Alexandria, specifically) and trying to take over Egypt. The eventual goal is to head west into Morocco and Spain so I can colonize America. The irony of a Muslim colonizing, say, Texas? It's just so very, very tasty.

When so many leaders died so quickly I thought this must be complete, but you've come back well from it. Interesting AAR, can't wait to see more.

Yeah, it got ridiculous around parts thirteen and fourteen. Some of them lasted a year or two, but nothing interesting happened in that time, so there were no pictures to put up and nothing to say. They just lived and died in short order.

The family trees of the Kalmen and Tulunid dynasties are ridiculous right now. I have great-uncles vying for my throne, and a disgruntled uncle who is actually younger than me.

Yeah, I don't know what that was about. I got some little event about the child's existential crisis, so I sent him to his guardian. I had no idea she wasn't Muslim...

Whoopsie! But don't worry, it all sorts itself out in true Crusader Kings fashion. Which is to say, I don't have the slightest clue.

Oops, forgot to mention: Part Nineteen is up, wherein things start going less smoothly.

Also: between this, music, writing a novel, assembling and painting miniatures, work, volunteer work and a host of other things, I'm running out of time to relax, so Dar al-Islam will be reduced to once every three days, instead of every two days, at least for a few weeks. I want to get a bigger buffer of complete posts so I can power through editing my book.

Well, I did once plot to kill a nine-year old to secure the throne of Sweden...

(Duchess of Uppland, I was her heir. Paid off too, the rest of the nobles promptly rebelled for my claim. Elective monarchy, a wonderful thing!)

Still, sometimes I see why this game gets the Game of Throne comparisons. XD
