That patch was released over a month ago, and has not caused this problem in general. So there's some problem in your installation.

Are you on Steam or GG? That is, did you apply the patch manually or did it happen automatically?

What version and checksum show on the main game menu?

Does this crash only happen with existing save games, or when you start a new game too?

Try this: manually delete the Documents CK2 folder (move any valued save games elsewhere first, of course) and let the game recreate it.

I have this same problem, but after deleting my CK2 folder in documents the problem persists. I have the game on Steam, and am playing on the latest patch v1.111. My checksum is LUCV. The game crashes when I start a new campaign, or try to load a save.

If the solution above didn't work for you, then clearly you don't have the same problem ... !

Anyway your checksum is wrong. Try a full clean reinstall: move any valued save games elsewhere and uninstall the game from within Steam. Then manually delete ALL the CK2 directories from under BOTH the Steam and MyDocuments folders. Now reinstall the game from Steam, and run the Verify just to make sure it all came down properly.
