Yesterday i installed DD, did all the stuff and ok

when i launched my first 1936 game in DD (played about 10 1936's games in HOI2)
i did not set the aggressiveness of the AI

now it's "weakling"

i always played with "aggressive" on Hoi2

is there a way to change? when i reload the game i set "aggressive," select country , save again, but next time i try to reload it's set to "weakling"
so i supposed it wasn't modified!

have i to re-begin the game? or there's still hope? :)

Playing AI on above-normal aggressiveness level is not recommended for any Paradox game. The reason is that high agression induces AI to do all kinds of crazy things and may make the game EASIER rather than harder. Also, remember that HoI2 is basically optimized for normal/normal, otherwise all kinds of weird things are likely to be the outcome...

You can also open your save-game in Notepad and manually change the aggressiveness setting.

The way i understand it - if the relative strengths of the opponents are equal - then whoever is more aggresive, usually wins. On normal i find that AI is way to passive to resist anything. You might find it funny, but even on Furious level I still find AI a bit too passive. Like there are times when I see that if AI attacks my troops in certain province it will win the battle - but it doesn't.

It might feel that attacking will weaken it somewhere else – it seems to have a better feel now for the relation of each province to the entire front. Fighting against the SU in Barbarossa, it seems to have an uncanny ability to know exactly which province I'm planning on pocketing – as soon as the breakthrough happens they start evacuating most of their troops from my target, and pick the right one no matter how indirectly I do it...

You can change the AI aggressiveness at any time by changing the options before loading.

I have the same problem. The AI on Furious is too timid, letting me get away with things I shouldn't be able to. I can sit around with too few troops in the Westwall or along a secondary front in Russia or China, and while the AI could win in less than a day if it just attacked, it never will. Normal aggressiveness is no challenge, they're terrified of your troops and Germany can conquer half of Europe - or even the USA - before the war starts without anyone doing anything about it. If Germany had conquered Spain, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and the USA by 1939, everyone up to and including Chamberlain would have been foaming at the mouth and demanding war, regardless of what puppet governments had been set up.
