Is it possible to turn on floating damage text from fights?
I use it a lot in EU4 to decide if I need to retreat due to taking a hammering.

Doesnt prevent having a single summary stat like total damage taken for that fleet as a float.I cant imagine 20-30 ships fighting 20-30 enemy with 1-10 weapons each. The whole screen would be a floating number.
* Edit when I was watch the game play I was looking at the combat strength to see who was going down faster.

Lets have both: hp and delta hp. Problem solved.true but numbers can be subjective.
Assume you have a fleet 3 times the size of an enemy but due to technology they are doing 1.5 times the damage you are doing. the numbers say they are winning but the end result is you will win. That's why I was looking at the fleet strength number.
It would take a bit of work to implement - it needs a UI for it. It needs some mechanics for summing up damage done over a day, or, even stranger, damage per shot per weapon per ship. It would take up a ton of processing power to keep displaying a thousand numbers every few seconds.
All in all there are better things to devote resources to.
No please. Hate the floating damage numbers in EU. Looks goofy, like a console fighting game.
