While it does show kills on the mission complete screen, that doesn't say much cause it can be just a last hit or something. I would love to have a total damage done for each mech, this would really allow you to see how each mech performed. I would absolutely love it to further break down by damage done for each individual weapon thou a clickable prompt(lower screen clutter). But just the total damage done by each mech shown at the mission complete screen would really help us when experimenting with new builds

While I understand your point  Military Kill Markers have long been a tradition both in gaming and real life.

But they are not "Most Damage Done" Markers.

They are "Kill" Markers.

In large measure because until killed, those same Enemies are dishing out damage left and right. In BATTLETECH that includes Ranged and Melee Damage... quite lethal Ranged and Melee Damage. While doing damage is important, what I want most to know is which of my Mechs and MechWarriors punched which Enemy Tickets / Killed which Enemy Mechs, Vehicles, etc.

Besides, as I see it with BATTLETECH being PvE and 1v1 ONLY... there is not as much importance is "Most Damage Done" or "Kill Stealing." (Unlike MWO, for instance.)

I am not saying to get rid of the kill markers, I am just saying they don't really offer much information and while this is mostly single player there will be multiplayer tournaments and whatnot. I actual got this idea reading the HBS Internal PvP Tournament thread, when I seen the screenshot posted I thought it would offer a lot to see how well each individual mech did. And I would actually use this information even in single player as I like metrics and don't see why we couldn't have something like this

Traditionally the RAF actually awarded shares, so if more than one person claimed the same aircraft each would be awarded one share.
As to the OP, it might be asking the system to record too much, especially if you want damage from each weapon. Plus the RNG nature of this game will mean heavily skewed results if you just have bad luck (or you insist on taking sub-50% shots) with a particular weapon or mech in one match.

While I would definitely love the individual weapon stats, I know that is asking quite a bit more than just a damage done number. Not sure what kind of backend there is in the game but I don't think it would be too hard for the game to track damage done over a match.

As far as the RNG comment that is kinda why I want something like this for single player. It allows you to better see how a mech actually performs over a couple matches. Like AC/20s are awesome but they are close range and can completely miss on a 90% chance to hit if you are unlucky enough and with a number at the end you could see that it is under performing next to say a same weight mech you also fielded with a different load out or did the few times it did connect make up for the other misses. With a damage done metric it would be a lot easier(and possibly faster) to make choices on what works or not in the long run of things

All you say is cool, but what would be cooler is, if a mech pilot gets kills, he gets awarded decorations and plaques (if they die) with his missions and kills in the mechwarrior info page in the form of little vehicle icons for vehicles, small mechs for light mech kills, larger mech icons for mediums etc...

Maybe if you are lucky at the end of the campaign you'll get some pilots with 50+ kills would look like a Vx12, Lx11, Mx14, Hx8, Ax6 even depending on faction colors just like WWII kill marks

But I guess you can just use pen and paper for that.

At one point their was the hope for something like a "Wall of Remembrance" in the Commander's Office aboard the ARGO. Something like what you speak of would make a great compliment to their pic.

I like the idea of showing both kill markers and damage percentages. This is good info to know (especially for us meta-RPG enthusiasts). The "Hall of Remembrance" is a great idea too. You see it in Xcom and it makes absolute sense to have it here. Especially since the main campaign is essentially endless. I guarantee when the Xcom crowd comes over to play this they will be wondering why it was left out.
