First game, Japan conquered China early on. Started over and starting moding territories and tech teams. I now noticed first by playing and then looking that you did not address France?

Could you consider these changes to France? (I will gander a look as well)

No ship research or ship building.
Build TANKS
Beef up air intensely

Same M.O. for Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Yugoslavia and China.

Since I favor 'alternate history' flavor, the 'impact' is desirable. Also, more tanks for US later on in case they are invaded.

Hi Again!

Have now looked at some AI files and notably the French 36 and referenced looking at some others.

Big surprise, NO AI AIR script for most country files? I found one so far for England 44. I added same to the French 36 and as well made the changes I had asked for earlier. Will test soon.

Well, no wonder I read around here somewhere, "The AI cannot use planes worth a crap". Maybe these files can be found more among the AI 'switch' files? But seems to me, every game would be better if found at least in the 'Campaign mode' or 36 or 39 start scenarios. Just my observation.

Thanks for the welcome! I wonder how I missed China.

Default Air AI, where is the 'call' made? I notice four AI Air variances and inserted the one emphasing land warfare for France.

I went ahead and did France, deleting the 'German combat advantage' (nice touch though). Eliminated naval tech and naval unit build. And resorted build ratios and collected Air to fewer catagories. (cut out strategic, naval air). I also have them building a wall all along the east border from Med to Channel so end round attacks by Germany will not be so slam dunk.

So far so good.
Did Poland, Yugoslavia, Romania, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. First test game is working.

Seems easy to modify this puppy, thanks for the lead.

Great Britain Defense

The UK AI doesn't seem able to defend the home countries after the fall of France - its still too easy to invade. I posted a similar comment on the main mod page, but since its DAIM related, I'll repost my comments here.

In my DAIM 36 game I'm playing as Germany, Great Britain relies on Garrison troops as its primary home defense, which one tank can blow through in seconds. However, my main complaint is the AI doesn't defend all their provinces with at least one unit. So as Germany you can just build a paratroop, an air transport and 6 transports or so, find an undefended province, airborne assault and easily dock your tanks without getting clobbered by the massive British navy.

Maybe its historical that they had only a few units in 1940, but they have enough infantry in Africa to make a decent defense of England. At least one regular infantry in each province would stop an airborne assault long enough to park a fleet offshore to stop reinforcements.

I'm not sure if there are any UK events regarding the Fall of France, but there needs to be some sort of switch to include an intense effort to defend all provinces, not just ones with beaches on the south coast. Scotland always seems undefended in the games I've played. Also, the AI should be able to defend the channel and the east coast of england/scotland with two decent sized Aircraft Carrier groups on interdiction missions, and still do whatever else it does with all those ships.

I found that adding a land connection to ireland helped the brits defend their island more... Just an idea for you guys to play around with.

Installlation of DIAM

I have downloaded the DIAM mod into my HOI2 file. I am presently playing a game in 39 which started in 36. I have seen no changes.

The files are in HOI2 in diam_bigpak but I really do not see any in the game files.

Did I miss a step? If so what am I suppose to do to get the game using DIAM.

Thanks to all that tried to help but none of that actually worked. Finally I was frustrated enough to manually move the files to the respective folders.

It worked.

I am finding the AI much tougher and now have to actually think before I send troops.

Good Job to whoever did this mod.

but i think you need a FAQ sticky couse there are alot of questions i had to search for about an hour to find out everything i needed to know =\
and i'm still not 100% sure if this is 1.2 and future updates compatible. or if 1.2 actually adresses most of the things this mod does anyway, becouse japan almost always takes all of china and goes for communist china if it has the forces to do so.
