Overall, how do you feel DAIM has performed in comparison to vanilla?
I think it has been overall, very challenging! With vanilla I could with 2 aircraft carriers keep the channel open long enough for sea-lion. Maybe lose 1 or both, but I got the troops over to England and took over the island. In the desert, with Italian infantry support was able to seize the Suez cannel and break into the Middle East.
Sinking most of the German fleet in the British channel was a big setback that was a lot of IC that I would better off been build land units. The tables turned against me when in the end of 1940, conversion of British infantry into large stacks threw the Germans back to Tripoli. Japanese seem to be up to par, but other German allies, can barely hold the line, let alone taking part in any offensive operations. Barbarossa I need more good quality Infantry divisions to deal with large stacks of Soviets 1941. Even when I launched the offensive in Russia, 3 pronged. I thought there would be a stacking penalty for the Russians during battles. Allot of other factors played a part in set backs as well, lack of quality land units, weather, should have attacked more to the south than north, etc.
All in all, this mod is very good and challenging, I have moded other games in the past like close combat, so it takes allot of work. They did a good job, makes you rethink strategy allot more differently. If you want more realism, there are mods out there for that. This mod gives you a challenge; I think that is what you would want. It get’s boring if you just play, the same strategy and win. I tried to do what I do in vanilla and you can see what happened. Also playing on VH the 1st time, is harder.
It's a good game and good work for the people who worked on it
