Hi, there was this thing in CK2 that I really loved, it was that I could really roleplay in the game as I could change the name of my country and everything.
I know you can change province and town names in EU4, but why cant you change the name of the country itself?
Would it remove a bit of realism? maybe, but why did it get added to CK2 in that case?
I would love something like this to be added into EU4, as an update to the game or as a DLC, I dont care, I would gladely pay the money as I play EU4 quite alot.
If you were to make it a DLC though, please dont make it cost the 5€ that the Customisation Pack for CK2 did.

Anyone else that would think it would be awesome?

+1, I'd generally prefer to change my nation's name as I grow to various sizes, especially starting as a OPM and having no viable (or desired) formables. This will be even more important with the Nation Designer.

I think we could also please those who think this would be unrealistic by making it cost you something, specifically, 1 stability, 75 diplo, and can only be changed every 10 to 25 years.

I can't imagine that changing a nation's name would hurt stability or cost diplomatic points, especially when formable nations don't have either such an effect. The lockout on frequent changes strikes me as not really harmful, but I don't see any real benefit.

Well I wouldn't want to stay Theodoro after I'm big enough rather than being "Super Megazord Empire of Goths", or maybe just Gothia. Or grew big enough to take all Caucasian provinces with Georgia? What makes you that you can't become Kingdom of Colchis like ancients named themselves.

It would make some good and bad things but I'm for it, as it makes more things to make that we are actually giving some part of ours to the game.(oh well thats a weird and complicated sentence)

I saw a thread like this a little while back and posted an idea. I was to lazy to retype it so I found the thread and just decided to copy and paste my suggesting here. This is my suggestion tell me if you like it.
There could be a list of words provided based on culture, where your country is, and size. For example maybe my country is Prussia, I have captured all of the land on the southern part of the Baltic sea, and have 25 providences. For my Prussian culture the words Prussia or Prussian would be available, for my location it could be southern Baltic, Northern Eastern German, and Baltic, for the nations size I could have the words empire, state, nation, and Union. From these words I could make Prussian Baltic State, North Eastern German Empire, Prussian Southern Baltic, Baltic Prussia, Etc.
This would prevent me from naming my nation something like Spain even though I'm Prussia.

I'm sorry but that sounds terrible.

How bout you have a whitelist that contains the names and adjectives of all of the nations in the game, so you have the ability to name your country something like "Buttplug Empire" but not a country whose name is already taken like Ming or Styria.

That's not what I suggested at all. If you actually read my suggestion you would realize "Buttplug Empire" would not be possible.
