Every experienced EU4 player has deep appreciation of the outliner feature. It provides plenty of useful information, lists and statistics. What's been bugging me for quite some time now, though, is that the order in which said outliner options are displayed cannot really be changed.
Understandably, top spots are reserved for diplomats, merchants, missionaries and such. However, sometimes your priorities shift: for instance, you want to have a constant view at the estates, you're done with assigning merchants and don't need them in the outliner anymore or you're playing a coloniser game and want to examine your colonies' growth. Unfortunately, the current state of affairs practically doesn't let the player pick which information they want to see first.
There is a very clumsy and time-consuming way around it. One can deselect all options only to re-select them again, but in an order one desires — with the options selected the latest at the bottom. Such customisation would be a lot of work before each gaming session as currently it's not saved in between them and one would have to do it every time.
Coming to the natural conclusion and the eventual suggestion: make the order in which outliner data is displayed customisable. Let the players pick their top information. Use a slider, numbers, whatever, you can draw inspiration from virtually any mobile application — they know the drill.
