Is there a possibility to create a galaxy with specific species, similar to Civ series? I've created a number of species that I would like to test out to see how they fare against each other. However I can't see such an option - maybe I'm blind - and it's always pure luck which species make it into the game.

If there is, a screenshot of where would be welcome. If it isn't, is there a mod to let you do that? Thanks

if you make a species, you can force it to spawn in the galaxy. in the empire selection screen, all your custom races have a little orange symbol. if its orange, that means they CAN spawn, if its orange with a lock, they WILL spawn, and if its grey, they won't spawn. You will need to update all of your pre-banks races though, if you want them to spawn
Edit:
here is a screenshot of the 3 states. The Exiles WILL Spawn, the Dynastic Union of Earth MIGHT spawn, and the New Formic Empire won't spawn

Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks.
