@Wiz Although it's already possible to all but force certain highly-weighted AI personality types through custom faction design, I think it would be a neat feature and help players create the kind of galaxy they want if when creating a custom faction we could outright select the personality it will have when spawning as an AI empire, so that our custom factions always give a consistent experience. Obviously we should only be able to select personalities that would be valid for the empire normally.
For example I might create a fanatic collectivist empire for a decadent and conformist species. In my games it will spawn roughly half the time as a hive mind, and half the time as slaving despots. Occasionally it will be hegemonic imperialists. But maybe with the story I have in mind for this faction, it only makes sense for them to be one of these, and it breaks my immersion for them to spawn as something else. I think it would be a nice quality-of-life thing that would probably not be too difficult to implement.
Something slightly harder to implement that could also be rewarding for some players is the ability to define custom AI personalities for our factions (which we could easily do already by modding the game, but ... muh achievements).
Thoughts?
