I created a collection of custom growable assets only for my existing city. I then started a new city with zero workshop to test some natural disasters cities and scenarios, and all was going well. I then wanted to check on my custom growable asset map for deathcare coverage and strength then noticed that none of my custom buildings were replaced with generic building of equivalent type and half my map was empty.

I thought custom assets were suppose to be replaced by generic assets. Is this not so, or a know issue that needs fixing?

I lost half of my city and it's growing back with random building sizes. I had them all zoned for 4x4 buildings only.

If this is how it's suppose to work, is there anyone working on replacxing the buildings properly?

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like that. I don't remember the game ever having replaced assets. While it might work ok for growables service buildings and the like can have different sizes from the default buildings, so replacing them wouldn't really work - it would likely cause more issues than just having empty spots.
