[Mod edit: Flamebait] wont be following my review updates since my opinion is for the "official" people anyway.
I am changing it to a yes recommend with caveats. It is a fun game with some things that will Irk the ♥♥♥♥ out of you if your a BT fan. If your not a BT fan and don’t mind a game you have to Learn with perhaps a steep learning curve and a fairly punishing start... Maybe you might enjoy it. If your not a BT fan, want a full tutorial or do not want to seek any info or sources elsewhere I can't recommend it for a few reasons that I will review in more detail later, and want to finish the story first. And I do love the story intro.

Quick comment on why this game could be great and isn’t. You will normally be outnumbered on a map not big enough for you to exploit range since almost as soon as you move you normally are within sensor range of “reinforcements” and they seem to be able to share sensor lock. Add to it you can take stability damage I find it to easy for the computer to exploit a turn in a way you Never could. This game uses greater number of enemies to beat you through attrition. It can go like this, hunt for the enemy lance, found them, engage, two turns later from off screen or at least out of sight (even though we have PPC's an LRM's apparently were blind) but within range of them you start to get pummeled. In addition to a janky camera your forced to watch it can be quite annoying. So anyway moving on it goes like engaged, sensor lock from one of 8 mechs/vehicles/turrets now before my turn (based on initiative) you could see like 5 of them target one of your lance... so hit, camera shifts, hit, camera shifts, hit, camera shifts, hit, camera shifts, hit, camera shifts... oh look enough stability damage enough to knock you down ([Mod edit: language] maybe because they share LOS and I just got hit with 5 mechs that the map was never big enough to let me try maneuver tactics) and then your probably loosing that mech. Also I kinda of think its BS if you (since your working wiht 4) manage to knock down a mech or overheat it still expect it to move before you get to capitalize on it because its probably end of turn and they probably have higher initiative. If its their only mech you will NEVER get to fire at it before it moves first on the next turn. Like I said I give this a thumbs up with caveats and I hope to hell their sequel uses an engine that can give us the map sizes we deserve.
