But, it also helps to stop lover's pox if you make sure the seduction target doesn't have lover's pox. In this time period, the only STD prevention is abstinence. Also, realistically, would you really let your genitals (or any part of your body?) make any sort of contact at all with someone else's genitals, if they're covered with "embarrassing and unsightly blisters"? Especially in the middle ages, when you have no way of knowing what it is?
