ETA is sometime later today. Dunno when, though.

As for CPR, you can just go to "mod/Cultures and Portraits Revamp/localisation" and delete everything except "CPR_text.csv" in there. That should solve the names going funky. (Same place in other versions.)

Okay, I'll wait for the new version and then see if it allows me to create the EoS without being Finnish.

I'll admit it's strange how, even when I've loaded up the save game without CPR, the requirement of the EoS still needing me to be Finnish remains.

So, CPR is included within VIET, am I right in assuming this as it was before? Or is CPR now a DIFFERENT mod that you need in conjunction with VIET? Some of the last responses have been giving me the impression that it is the latter option.

Everything in CPR is included in VIET. Everything.

Well, more specifically, everything in CPR is including in the Immersion module. So if you're not using the Immersion module and don't want Arab Portraits Everywhere™, then you can use VIET in conjunction with CPR.

Although I don't think anything will happen if you use CPR with Immersion.

That's what I kind of figured, so I pretty much am just using it right anyway! Are your new Saxon portraits that you were working on inside the new version of VIET, then?

No new Saxon portraits anywhere for now. I'm waiting to see what the Celtic portraits DLC has to offer, as I think a few of its elements might be useful for a Saxon portrait set.

Would you try to get access to armor and headgear from the BLC mod mate...??? :)

EDIT: not only for Saxons, for every culture if it's possible...

Yeah I second this, if it isn't too much to ask cybrxkhan, please do it, or at the very least, if you can't incorporate the whole thing then try to incorporate as much as possible.

ETA is in a few hours or late tonight at latest. As a little surprise, I managed to get different portrait sets working for Pagan vs. non-Pagan Turks, so the Turks will change appearance slightly if they convert from paganism to Islam/Christianity/whatever and vice versa. Credits to iron0037 for figuring out that it wasn't just for Christians vs. Pagans. Below are a couple of preview screenshots.

This first one isn't a preview actually, it was just me testing to see how it worked. Here's the same guy before and after conversion.

Obviously it won't be like this in the final version, nobody wants to see their characters go through face surgery like that. The actual version will be more like this:

The main difference are the hats and hairstyles. Here's the preview 5-person shot I usually do:

Probably not most of it or even a good amount of it, as I still want to keep CPR as looking close to vanilla as possible (and I'll be perfectly honest I find BLC a bit too colorful sometimes, even if it is more realistic); HOWEVER, I will try to scavenge whatever I can from BLC, as I do think some of it could come in handy in the future for CPR.

Awesome new pics! Fantastic that you've implemented the religion/appearance changes! =)

In regards to BLC, the armours were, and still are, fantastic additions, so if you could get permission to use them then I'd add my recommendation as well!

Honestly, I'd rather you did NOT grab a ton of BLC stuff; I stopped using BLC and started using CPR precisely because CPR wasn't a resource hog and because it kept the vanilla graphics. Please do not overload CPR with too much junk!

BLC used multiple layers and tricks to improve the looks, which took resources, if you just use regular images there should be no difference to getting a regular new portrait dlc.

Random relevant questions:

What version of the mod are you trying (i.e. vanilla version, PB version, CKII+ version, and with what patch)? Did you make sure there is an actual mod folder in your mods folder? Additionally, does the .mod folder match the version you're using? (For instance, if you're using "Cultures and Portraits Revamp for Project Balance" there should be the corresponding "Cultures and Portraits Revamp for Project Balance.mod" and that should be the one you're clicking on in the launcher)

Vanilla, 1.101, it's in the mod folder, Cultures and Portraits Revamp.mod, selecting it in the launcher.

Also, make sure it's in the correct location; your documents folder, NOT the main game folder.

EDIT: The 1st one from the 3rd row is amazing...Could you do that also with Pechenegs,Avars etc???

Avars also get Turkish portraits (as they currently do), Pechenegs will have the standard steppe look (for now).

Honestly, I'd rather you did NOT grab a ton of BLC stuff; I stopped using BLC and started using CPR precisely because CPR wasn't a resource hog and because it kept the vanilla graphics. Please do not overload CPR with too much junk!

I was reluctant to integrate anything from BLC for the exact same reason, however I have been told that the reason BLC was a resource hog was not because of the new material it added per se, but because of the code it used. So actually using new art material doesn't really cause lag issues per se (otherwise, as someone pointed out, using all the DLC portraits would have screwed up performance terribly).

All that said, I'm not going to use a lot of BLC's materials to begin with, I'll only try to take what I think could help provide some variety, rather than make CPR a direct sequel of BLC.

Vanilla, 1.101, it's in the mod folder, Cultures and Portraits Revamp.mod, selecting it in the launcher.

In C:\Users\[name]\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod

Hmm. Maybe try re-downloading it, maybe the download got messed up somehow. If it doesn't work, I'll be releasing an official update for CPR later tonight, maybe that will work.

Alright folks, the official update of CPR is ready for download. As many of you are aware, I am now making CPR exclusively a portrait mod. This will make updating it much easier while also allowing me to focus on VIET more.

I have also tested the portrait fix to make sure it works. Hopefully, it will work for you too (for those of you who need it), and it will resolve any issues for those of you who have had issues with, well, the portrait fix and such.

Enjoy.

even west african; and in italy and africa there are some "noculture" characters with western portrait. (with PB+SWMH)

Good work for med, for iberians and italians in particular!
Only one thing; the eyebrown. The still look like monkey because of them, and using western ones the eye became very white (so, different form the face).

Also, I think that berbers had to have lighter skin
