I seem to remember that many areas like Indonesia and South Africa retained their culture on colonization. Now they dont and I assume it is a change caused by Origins. Why this change? Then I also want to suggest a change to the change culture in province function, the ability to change a province culture back to the culture it was at game start. It allows a decolonization game by African, Asian or Native American states to kick the Europeans out of their home regions. It is not for political correctness or realism reasons, just a game mechanic the player can use to have a fun game as a non european nation.

It is not always possible in colonies, the original culture of the province is lost. Restoring to original culture is a feature of the Cossacks DLC, but it only applies in some situations. Of course I could be wrong, but as far as I have searched the Wiki, a colonised province loose its culture and in many cases it cannot be reversed.

I'm not sure about whether or not it's tied to any particular DLC (it's been so long since Cossaks came out), but in my recent game I believe that I was able to restore the original culture of colonized provinces.

I tried to restore the original cultures in Guinea and Cameroon in my Songhai campaign, I couldn't not do it. Just convert to my culture or the neighbouring ones.
I own all the DLCs.

I have tried the same and got the same result. I think it is abug and there certainly is a bug about provinces changing culture during colonization. Provinces with large populations should not switch culture automaticly when colonized, they can be culture changed manually of course. Thanks for answers everybody :)
