I believe i am not the only one in this forum who is annoyed by the frequent "province x should have y culture" threads.

Culture or national identity were not relevant for most of EU4´s timeframe, abstracts concepts like "nation" or "nationalism" were a politicial non-entity until well into Rousseaus time. In fact, one of the difficulties of assigning a culture to a province is the lack of data for any given region, because culture was seen as essentially irrelevant (unlike religion and religious unity which were seen as vital).

I propose therefore that the culture map be redesigned to have only abstract macro-culture groups like "West Slavic", "Germanic", "North African" etc. to save us and you the trouble.
