Hi i'm a new user to victoria 2 and i have many questions unanswered. One of them is how can i boost the culture assimilation of a province. I've been playing as Greece and i got my provinces back with increase tension - crisis - etc. But except the event that i got to assimilate my provinces i found no other way to do it. Is there a way to do it so i don't have to deal with rebel factions? Happened to me while i was playing Belgium aswell. Should i focus in something? What should i do ?

Keep in mind that this is not EU4. There is no magic button that you can press to change cultures. In Victoria 2, the problems associated with a polyethnic empire stays with you throughout the game. The reason why, is likely that province culture in EU4 represents the culture of the ruling elite - not the peasants. In Victoria 2, however, the masses will have their say.

It all depends, of course, on whether or not you are playing with expansions. If I remember correctly, the assimilation rates in the base game are a bit more extreme, allowing for some weird stuff.

I think that population in EU4 was the one of the city, at least in EU3 it was. in Crusader Kings was the aristocracy´s culture.

The culture in EU4 is... a thing. All interpretations of it fail horribly one way or another (if it's the aristocracy, Athens should be Lombard; if it's the peasants, Poszony and Szepes should be Slovak); best to just treat it as the abstract game mechanical value that it is.
