Does the culture of a character/province have any other effects on the game than graphical? I haven't been able to find anything in the manual or a tooltip yet.

Well, I think that the culture of children are effected by the province of their birth so to speak. I've noticed alot of Arab Catcholic children turning up in the courts of my African/ME vassals.. when the parents are not Arab.
Could be something special though.. haven't noticed any Greeks in my south italian holdings though..
Could also be that it's only for the children of the random generated court members (the dynasty doppelgangers) since they perhaps don't have a fixed dynasty?

Doesn't culture affect the names of children/court members. Thats the impression I got from reading the forums.
That was only an example of what I'd observed early on.. there's probably 100 other things affected by religion/culture.

Absolutely... my danish king had a son with a greek woman, his name was Konstantinos and had greek culture. I think first names are picked based on culture.
I thought that if you have one culture and province is with another your money income will change or you have less troops?!
Maybe it has to do with the diplomatic part of the game. Same religion better probabilities to succeed and different religion lesses probabilities to succeed...

Culture certainly has an effect on spread of technology, and some will soon have an even greater effect on both discovery and spread (possibly for 1.02 but more likely for 1.03 - unless I win the lotto and can quit my day job ).

You seem to be very sad about different features in the game, a lot of sad faces in your posts... Lighten up! The game is good.
As King of Wales I married a daughter of the King of Denmark. Some of our children are born "Welsh Catholics," while others are born "Danish Catholics." Anyone know why that is? And does it make any difference? (Perhaps some of my sons are just bigger "mamma's boys" than others.)
